If anyone wants to be real crazy, there is only one FBO at SWO/Stillwater.

Call them and say you are arranging ground transportation for N111UT and wanted to see if the cars had made it to the FBO yet..

What’s an FBO?

Nope. But the plane that was being referenced all day has been parked for some time in a maintenance hanger due for an engine upgrade. According to the reporter, it is out of service.

After reading a little more, there was an aircraft registration copy posted that said it had been sold to some guy named Stevens.

I didn't hold a piece of paper, and didn't go over to McGhee-Tyson to verify, but like everything flying around the past 36 hours, the airplane reporting stuff, including my own 2 cents worth, is probably worth exactly what you are paying to read about it here.

But, you gotta admit, it's kept us hopping today, hasn't it. Man, I hope we get Gundy!
Thanks for your insight! Gundy to the Hill!!

I get that. So there is absolutely no way that someone who wasn't the owner of the plane could file the flight plan under that tail number and then get it blocked on Flight Aware? How does Flight Aware confirm if you own the plane?

No idea as to how FlightAware verifies ownership. What I think happened is that someone at UT forgot to add the tail number to their blocking service. N1794 was, but not N111UT, even though they're the same aircraft.

Ya it's really confusing. Same aircraft for sure. N1794 has flown as recently as a week ago I believe. People are claiming that N111UT has been in maintenance for months and even sold to someone. Fairly certain that neither tail number is in the air per ADS-B. I do not believe it ever took off.

What is true is that there are really serious aircraft guys reading these posts that know how to get at the truth about the UT aircraft / Ergen / Haslam / et al, that can track if there really is anything flying from Knoxville to Stillwater.

Fact is, as of now, we don't know what is going on, so in true VN fashion, we're typing words in posts, hoping, hoping, hoping

In my head I keep seeing it as a plane is bound for sweetwater. If we get our next coach out of Monroe county I will sacrifice my next child to the ghost of Robert Neyland.

Still tracking the flight. It has to be close if it’s real from actual departure time of 6:59 EST

If this winds up being a troll it’s an epic one and I want to buy the people that pulled it off a drink!!

Well sports fans, as we used to say in the Corps, this entire coaching search fiasco has turned into a major cluster fork! Thank you UT Administration!

Plane would have been down by now. It’s too fast.

Epic trolll. Whoever you are I want to buy you a beer!!!🍺🍺😂😂

That tail number is blocked according to flightaware.

Unfortunately the plane didn't have someone who can close a deal on it. Currie couldn't close a spring loaded door, he couldn't sell it on a troop train.

If they aren’t out getting a coach today, then it is sickening...:thud:
