Again, I'll say it for the cheap seats. Yes, changes need to be made. The heat is being felt. Go ahead and "fan" how you want to "fan", but seeing what happens might be interesting. I think the coach that brought us out of nearly 20 years of diaper fires wants to be here. He knows the unhappiness that is being yelled. I'm sure some of you will have your "excuses" as to why this quote doesn't matter, but an opinion about why we should keep him is as fair as negativety that is being spewed. This isnt worshipping him as some of you weirdly claim.

To add...Your "excuses" about other fanbases being just as bad are lame. I thought we didn't care about other teams or fanbases. Just our beloved Vols. Some of you need to calm down. Being embarrassed about how "your" football team performs is weird as well. Have a beer and enjoy the entertainment for what it is.

You know, this just doesn't track with me. Not one bit. I'm not losing any sleep about Tennessee losing (though I used to, as we've all done from time to time), but that's not being realistic.

It's completely disconnected to have the SEC crowing incessantly about how "it just means more," but then ask fans not to be overly-invested and just enjoy things no matter the outcome. And these schools didn't reach their billion dollar TV contracts because of even-keeled fans who aren't invested in whether their teams win or lose. That "it just means more" passion doesn't get turned off like a light switch.

That's like saying "be super passionate and loud and supportive and gung-ho, but then if and when they lose don't care so much about it." That's just completely disconnected. It doesn't work that way. Not just in college sports either, but any sport imaginable. Fans invest. People invest, emotionally and physically, in things they care about. It's what they do.

Everything will fine again after everyone has their pity party and gets it out of their system

......and that's why we need to play some slow and over rated B10 team in the bowl.

Thrashing them with one arm tied behind our backs might pull some of these folks out of their doldrums.

September is a looooonnnnngggg way away.

Agree. He lost me with the "your" comment.

How many things have you said on this board that impacted our players playing better or worse? That’s what I thought.

Get off that high horse. You’re just as useless as the rest of us.
Speak for yourself. I am a legend in my own mind

I’m pretty sure if they paid any of us $9 million a year we would all want to be here too!
Pay most folks 9 million and they'd be more than glad to go 0-4 against ranked teams....Have wins over some of the worst loss record teams in college football...and get skull drug all over Neyland by flipping Vandy.

Ahh so you only want to evaluate him after one season? His only bad one. This was a disappointing year. Not a disaster of one. They happen to every coach. Yall need to grow up

Just think, after year five, we should be at least a top 15 program. If that were the case, we would not have lost to all of those teams.

He will have finished in the top ten in 2 of the last four after this one. Top 17 in 3 of the last four. Over the last four years, including this one, we are a top 15 program.

Lol....more excuses for a year 5 coach. You will see the next 2 seasons what Heupel's made of. And if he doesn't change a lot of things he might not be here 2 years from now.

Excuse? Everything I said was a fact. Hell he's had a better 5 year run at Tennessee than Lane had at Ole Miss. And took over a worse situation. That's also a fact. Well it's actually equal after this year

Your hero better change things with himself...and his organization or he's on the downside of his time at UT. I know that will upset the coach worshipers but....That's a fact.
