It was entertaining, I wouldn't necessarily call it a great movie. It's probably worth watching, then again I haven't read the book.

Yea, that's the thing. Books seem to always be better than the movies. I am ok with that unless Eastwood completely strayed from the book. That would probably make me not want to watch it.

I got it for my birthday and have yet to watch it. (Time thing and all)

Though I do look forward to watching it.

Didn't see it. Band of Brothers is one of the best out there, if i was going to rent something to watch, I'd choose that.

I heard it was decent, while Letters from Iwo Jima was fantastic. They were made at the same time though, both by Clint Eastwood.

Funny side story. My mom thinks Flags of Our Fathers is one of the all-time great war movies while Letters is anti-American garbage. She didn't even shut up after I told her they were both made at the same time, by the same people.

:eek:lol: :eek:lol: My wife was confused, she told me that Letters from Iwo Jima gave her "deja vu". I thought it was pretty funny, she isn't big into history.

I was kinda dissapointed in Flags of out Fathers.

Although I try not to go into movies with any expectations, I had already formed some about this one. I was thinking it would be about Iwo Jima. Not 3 soldiers going through personal struggles while trying to sell war bonds.

Even if I'd gone into it with no expectations, I still think I wouldn't have been impressed with it.

It was a little disappointing. I don't think he had enough time to develop the characters in 2 hours. I guess that is why the book is always better.

I rented the movie a little while after it came out, but it never left the case. Wasn't really looking forward to watching it much, but you know... I get bored easily and I've seen a ton of movies.

Flags was ok - Letters was better. I thought Flags focused too much on Ira Hayes- a Native American marine who helped raise the flag. His story is very tragic, and somewhat over shadowed the rest of the picture- IMO.
