"Florida didn't have football until 1990" seems to be the most commonly used retort among Vol fans.

Tennessee has 8 SEC titles in the last 50 years. Florida has 8 official SEC titles in the last 50 years (not counting three that were stripped). Florida has 3 National Championships in the last 50 years, Tennessee has 1 (Sorry-the 1967 Litkenhous does not count).

Make the argument that UF has won these titles since 1990 if you like, but in doing so you acknowledge that UF has done more in the last 19 years than Tennessee has in the last 50 years. So I ask the question, would you rather enjoy the success of your team in this lifetime or boast about what your team did 2 generations ago? I say there is no better time than the present. You folks can keep reading about your team's conquests in the 30's-50's and we will bask in the glory of the present.

Unfortunatly you are right in your assesment. Florida has absolutley dominated Tennessee in my lifetime (24yrs).
But it does make it special when you are winning (TN 1990-2001) to be able to say you are building on a proud tradition of winning that dates back a 100 years. It is not fun when you are in a down period like we are now and all you can do is bring back the past.

I will give that FL has been good in the past but you also have to take into consideration that they have had key personnel in key positions that have allowed for their history! I.e. Spurrier and Tebow and a few others a can't remember cause I don't realy follow FL. But without Spurrier and Tebow in the future...where is FL going? Every team goes through luls and has to rebuild! With a freshman force like what we have, I say in 2-3 yrs we will be in a position where the roles will be reversed!

Every school has idiot fans. Florida fans in general are usually pretty football smart. The worst fans are Alabama. Inbred, drunk, fat, redneck homers with no sense of reality.

Gameday may not be the best day to judge anyone teams fans....That applies to me as well... I can break down offenses and defenses during the week...On Gameday Im drunk with my chest painted screamin at UT fans to Volunteer their daughter.... not my finest moment but nonetheless...I think an applicable idea

I am starting to realize that all the gator fans come here for intelligent conversation as they certainly can not reach that level on a gator board among themselves...Hell gator fans talk more about UT sports than gator sports anymore...Just go check out gatorsports.com one day and look at all the UT/Kiffin threads and all the mentally challenged postings...That my friend is called OBSESSION :crazy: But hey welcome anyways! :hi:

We were at USCe for the game it was cold... we only wear jorts to warm games...I have a seperate pair just for that... jeez 8)
