When we returned from Daytona speedway this past Sunday our exit to my fathers house was nothing but smoke. WOW! We went up an exit to find a police man blocking the street we live on. He let us through and we went to the house . We never recieved an evacuation order but we were scared. Everything worked out fine but today I learn someone who works for the same company I do lost everything. Fires are no fun.

I saw that on the news this morning as I was getting ready for work. It sucks even more if some were deliberately set.

I can imagine Finey... Buffalo Mountain, a nearby mountain here, recently had a wildfire and the smoke was awful. Firefighters lost control of it for a day, had to close some roads, but eventually got it back. It's sad to look up and see how brown it is now. My alma mater, Milligan College took their nickname "Buffaloes" from the mountain.

It took me 5 hours to get home from DeLand, a trip that generally only takes about 3 because 40 miles of I95 was closed...
