IMO he is a nickel at the next level. He has potential to be a big factor on special teams. He returns kickoffs, punts, blocks punts. He plays the run well, and is an instinctive tackler. He plays aggressively in coverage and when tackling, which is a must at the nickel. He is also 10.7 100M track guy.
His biggest downside is his size.
This is how I would rank our current class in Tiers:
Tennessee is in solid shape with both De’Shawn Rucker and Damarius McGhee. Chad Simmons was in Florida this week and caught up with both guys and will have updates in the coming days. In talking to Chad, both guys continue to hear from a number of schools but Tennessee is still far and away the top team for both.
Rucker made five tackles and broke up two passes Friday night in Godby's 56-20 win over Tallahassee's Florida A&M University Developmental Research School. The Cougars will play host to Tallahassee's Lincoln High School on Friday night.
