Hmmmm and I bet this will vastly cut down on the amount of weapons criminals can get their hands on right? I mean they obey the law so much. Jesus, when will the liberal morons learn anything?

I want to know what drugs LG is on to think that banning guns is a good idea. I am sure criminals will listen and not break the law.

At least one state has a regulated militia apart from the National Guard.

"The Texas Military Forces is composed of the three branches of the military in the state of Texas. These branches are the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, and the Texas State Guard. All three branches are administered by the state Adjutant General, an appointee of the Governor of Texas, and fall under the command of the Governor.

Actually is was a federal judge appointed by Bush 1 that let dontray Mills go with a slap on the wrist.

I was about to post that meme to facebook but decided I better do a little research of my own. Turns out the Obama justice department had nothing to do with that judge's decision.

Mississippi has a volunteer state militia apart from the Guard.

The Stevens article was interesting and insightful. But his suggestion to add the words to the 2nd amendment were a bit of a reach and not supported by the case he made in the article. Though one could argue that there may be some merit in his opinion that the intent of the 2nd amendment was to insure the ability of the states to form their own militias to insure their freedom, nowhere does it suggest that someone must already belong to a militia in order to be protected.

Such militias generally do not come into existence until a perceived threat arises; and then are usually poorly funded, requiring it's members to supply their own equipment. His suggested 5 words would severely hamper the ability of such a militia to ever form.
