Do away with East and West Divisions and do this:

The top 2 teams would play in SEC Championship game

Eight game conference schedule:

Each team has 3 games each year against rivals
Tennessee would play Alabama, Georgia, and Vandy
Alabama would play Tennessee, Auburn, and Miss St.

On odd number years, Tennessee would play Ky, USC, LSU, Auburn, and Miss St.
On even number years, Tennessee would play Mizz, Fla, A&M, Ark, and Ole Miss

On odd number years, Alabama would play Ole Miss, LSU, Fla, Ark, and Ky
On even number years, Alabama would play USC, GA, A&M, Mizz, and Vandy

Nine game conference schedule:

Each team has 5 games each year against rivals
Tennessee would play Alabama, Georgia, Vandy, Ky, and USC
Alabama would play Tennessee, Auburn, Miss St, Ole Miss, and LSU

On odd number years, Tennessee would play LSU, Auburn, Miss St, and Mizz
On even number years, Tennessee would play Fla,A&M, Ark, and Ole Miss

On odd number years, Alabama would play Fla, Ark, Ky, and USC
On even number years, Alabama would play Georgia, A&M, Mizz, and Vandy

Obviously, all teams would have similar schedules.

Benefits:

Any player in school for 4 years would get to play every team at least twice with at least one trip to all venues.
Strength of schedules would be more balanced.
The 2 teams atop the standings would be in the title game.

Tweak it as you wish, but don't you think it would be great?

The Conference doesn't need fixing. It needs UT and Florida to be relevant again.

If you were to suggest tweaks to the conference, it would need to be in conjunction with an expansion to a 8 game CFB playoff (5 conference champs, 2 wildcards, top non Power 5 team). At that point, a 9 game schedule would work (Play 6 teams within division, 1 perm rival from other side, and 2 other teams from other side).

I really like this setup, but I don't know how I'd feel about not playing Florida every year...

I like the 8-game setup better. Leaves more room for quality OOC games.

Also, in your nine-game schedule, you basically just have us playing the existing SEC East every year except for Missouri and Florida, so I don't know if it's different enough.

Like I said, I am ok with making changes just as long as every team in the league plays every other team at
least every other year.

I think the east is on a huge uptick which is desperately needed to balance out the west (bama). The sec has been so down lately from lack of quality coaches. Mullen will be good at fl, I'm all in on Pruitt, ga has their man, of course little nicky in the west with the addition of jimbo. And watch out for lsu struggling on offense this year, firing the cajun and Kiffin bringing his offense there. Just imagine the coaching lineup. West- saban, jimbo, kiffin
East- kirby, Mullen, Pruitt. That would be a stout conference again

I don't know, maybe it is just me. But I want Bama, Auburn, Georgia and Florida every year. Bring it and hold yourself to a higher standard. I wouldn't mind playing A & M every year for Texas recruiting either.

Get rid of A&M, Ark, USCe, and Mizzou. Then do a 9 game conf schedule.

Until a team losing in the SEC Championship cost an SEC team a spot in the playoff then the SEC won't even consider changing up the current format.

Great idea, it's so easy and makes so much sense the SEC would never go for it. I hate not playing everyone often such as A&M. When do we play them again?? 2023, what a joke seven years between games! I'm okay with keeping divisions but either way we need to play everyone more often than seven years between games.

The conference doesn't need TN at all. Florida being dominant does raise the profile some, but only if Bama loses its luster. The conference is just fine the way it is. The energy bus left the Vols at the station a decade ago.

TN is already playing 8 SEC games this year. If more are added the divisions are needed to keep clear the top teams for seccg.
Personally, that's why I love college football. You get to see a lot of variety between match ups.
I would leave the conference as is. I didnt like adding A&M and Mizzou not because of the teams, but because some schools take too long to play each other as it was.
I would eliminate a few more of the cupcake games for P5 schools.

In a couple of years, we will pick up two more teams and go to 4 divisions and 3 games to determine SEC champion.

I say we pick up OK and NCst or VT.

North: Mizzou, KY, TN, Vandy
East: NCst/VT, SCAR, FL, GA
South: AL, MSst, Ole Miss, Aub
West: OK, aTm, Ark, LSU

3 games in division, a Cross-division rival with 3 other divisions (TN: FL or NCST/VT, AL, Ark), 3 rotational for division (except cross division rival) 2020: North plays South, so TN plays MSst, Ole Miss, Auburnplus AL rival. 2021: North plays West: so TN plays OK, aTm, LSU plus rival Ark. 2022: North Plays East so TN plays NCSt/VT, SCAR, GA plus rival FL.

Typical SEC Championship: 1. North vs 4. West, 2. South vs 3 East. Winners meet in SECCG. This will result in two more big revenue generating games for conference.

I think it's awesome we want to play the best. You can't be the best without knowing what makes them tick. Take Awebern, who used to be one of our big rivals before the first split, wants to change divisions, teams they play, and dates. They really need to drop to a lower conference to schedule easier games, then maybe they might make a playoff game.

I agree. To me, it sucks that a player can play 4 years and never get to compete against another team
in the SAME conference.
