Five Years In the Making

First and foremost, please don't make fun of me for it taking nearly five years for me to hit 100 posts and start my own thread. With that being said, yesterday was the day I realized just how inept Butch Jones is as a coach. I've been as supportive as possible of this team, but listening to this man speak makes my head hurt.

To say that you haven't been able to figure out a way to get Chandler and Kelly on the field at the same time and that you'd burn a redshirt for one snap just shows how inept you are as a head coach. How do you now know "two back" and "wildcat" formations exist?

All I can say is Currie better not hire Mike freakin' Bobo.

Don’t know what shocks me more... 5 years or get 100 post or 5 years to realize how bad Butch is.

There have been so many red flags along the way. To act like we flipped on him because he lost to UGA and Florida this year is unfair. Simply the final straw.

Losing to Vandy twice, likely 3 times in 5 years.
Burning Dobbs redshirt on a meaningless situation
Starting Worley over Dobbs in a read-option offense
4th and 17
SC after a bye week
"F em all" during Florida game directed at the fans
Botching Hurd and Kamara situation

The list goes on and on and on

I've been here a lot longer than 5 years and I still can't make my own thread. Lol

Butch has been inept for a while, I was too blinded to see at first, after candy last year was my final straw.

Absolutely, I have been reading, laughing and smh here for years but rarely post. As the old saying goes, opinions are like ***holes, everybody's got one. Some of us just love the Big Orange but choose to keep our opinions to ourselves most of the time.

You routinely slur and denigrate people - all in the name of Vol football. You say you're from Alabama, the "armpit" as you describe it. Perhaps you should move - it might help your attitude.

My confession ...

First level minor doubts: All the BSiA and endless cliche's like "Fist Up Defense" etc early on. Felt like buying a used car from the guy with the gold nugget chain and taco meat.

Second level doubts: 4th and Goal @ 1/2 vs OU at home early. Then trying to hang on to a 17pt lead for 2.5qtrs, then doing it over and over and over until 100% predictable. Thots of "Is he really the guy begin".

Third level major doubts: Losing to Vandy last season with allllll that talent. That defense rivaled Sunseri's. Vandy took us to the shed with many players who would never get on the field for us. Firmly on my Hot Seat.

Fourth level Tap Out: 1st and Goal at the 1/2 in the Swamp. Shotgun corner fade into x2 coverage. That was the day I went from "support" to "prove to me". The proof has gone badly the wrong way.

I still support my team, and our coach. I support our coach bc he leads our team. But, purely from an on field coaching perspective I am convinced we have to make a change or lose all the momentum of an improved roster that Jones HAS succeeded in. I'm also 100% confident that is exactly what's underway with our admins at this moment.

Agreed. And now here we are, five years on, right back where we ended with Dooley. An improved roster may be the only exception.
