Fist fights during games

Hahaha and I have had to drag blue tick hounds out of swamps soaking wet in January (temps in 20s) after they treed coons and stayed in water for hours and wanted to still be there. I was cold and ready to go home! Dogs are like people that live a soft life in heated and air conditioned carpeted frat house and I guess you would need a blanket too. A blue tick raised outside hunting and a little cold ain’t gonna hurt them. The only way they are susceptible to cold is if it’s frigid since they have a relatively short course coat of hair.
Yep. My dad was/is a coon hunter, and I would go when I was younger. Saw it just lije you said many times😄. Saw dad go in the water to save a dog from being drowned by a coon also.

I have heard sports announcers comment on how well cared for Smokey is at games. I remember once a rival player and Smokey both had a heat related issue and the buzz around Smokey was more than the rival player's. lol

Too many loose cannons at ball games. Don't think they should have reinstated booze at Neyland JMO. Stay home watch it on the TV and have your favorite at your hand. For us older guys rest rooms are close also.
Not only is the bathroom close, but so is that leather recliner, 75" TV, and remote! It takes us over 4 hours to watch a game usually because we rewind and watch all the good plays over and over.

Saw a fight in the visitors dugout at the old Bill Meyer Stadium. Can't remember which team the Knoxville Blue Jays were playing that night but I think it was either Memphis or Birmingham.

Also, the first MLB game I went to was at the old Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati. Heard some commotion and looked back and there was a fight between 2 Reds fans. Security broke up pretty quick though.

I can only recall one fight in all of the games in all of the years that I have been going to games in Neyland. That was many years ago and it was a Florida game. It might have taken place in the mid 90’s.

However, this past weekend was my first ever away game and during the game, there was a bloody fight. I know for sure one was a Mizzou fan due to the yellow pullover but am unsure if the other was one of ours. How prevalent are fights during games? Personally, I think fist fighting over a football game is stupid.

Of note, I have seen police escort fans out a few times but am unsure if it is necessarily due to fighting.

After the 2016 Outback Bowl when we whipped Northwestern 45-6 there was some drunk NW fan taunting Vols fans (no clue what he could possibly be taunting us about after that beatdown) and got in the face of the wrong one who promptly busted him right in the nose bloodying it immediately. This was while fans were walking to their cars after the game.

A female cop was sitting in her cop car watching it all go down and the NW fan walked over and starts knocking on her window and she basically told him to "buzz off" and don't start sh*t if he can't handle it in return. The guy was so confused after the hit he pointed at my cousin trying to accuse him of being the one that hit him when he was nowhere close to the guy.

You should've been to Gainesville in the mid to late 90's...Fights all over the place

2 weeks ago a poster who owns a bluetick
hound said they were suseptable to catching cold. I guess he would know.

They are shorthaired dogs. No double coat to insulate. Having to be out and exposed without running around keeping warm or going inside a warm doghouse/den will make them drop body temp too low.

All true, except those dogs were actively hunting and keeping warm inside. Smokey is just standing/sitting around. I'm sure once your dogs were back home they crawled inside their dog house to stay warm.

Which is why with alcohol revenue the security expenditures should go up. No reason why we can't pay off duty officers to work security.

Security expenditures have been increased. However, unless there is a security guy standing next to every fan, fights will happen, drunk or not.

UTK grad. Seen fights in Neyland many times over the years. Seen fights at Vandy. There has been alcohol in both stadiums since they opened. People either drink before they get there or sneak it in. We are now selling. Studies have shown there is less violence since you have less pregaming.
We are selling beer not liquor. I now have to stand in line to buy beer and then stand in line to pee more often. I have not seen a fight this year. Maybe I just missed it when I was standing in line.

I’ve seen fights in Neyland, Vandy and Nissan stadium.
I also saw some good ‘ole boys in a big 4x4 chase some drunk as GA fans that were waving a big GA flag out of the street, up an embankment and into a parking lot over by the big parking garage over by the hospital. It was awesome

Well about half of the 3,000 fans there were Vol Fans, so it could have been one of ours.

More than likely it was related to a disagreement over how to successfully "bend the truth" & "spin the narrative" for a journalism assignment.
