Jeff Fisher is getting a contract extension, for 4 years. I may have missed a thread because I would have thought that someone would have posted it.

Yeah he really deserves it. He has rebuilt the team very well and they are clearly on the rise.

PLEASE!!!

Fisher is an excellent coach and if the Titans let him go he would have a HC job the next day.

He has had zero talent to coach the past couple of years.

Yes meaning he is a coach who would be in demand if on the open market.

Floyd Reese is to blame for the Titans woes, not Fisher.

Name me one coach who would have made the playoffs with the rosters he has had over the past few seasons

Answer: NONE

Name a coach who would have gotten more out of a terrible roster.

Our best players were let (Rolle, Mason Kearse etc) go because Reese couldn't manage the salary cap properly.

That has nothing to do with Fisher. He is an excellent coach.

Name another coach who would have done better, that's right you can't. You have nothing to back up your arguement.

Everyone who follows the team knows our best players were let go because of salary cap issues and if I'm not mistaken we were the youngest team for a while.

Name the only coach to take the Oilers/Titans to a Super Bowl.

Oh yeah, wasn't that 1999? There really are some similarities in Tennessee among head football coaches.

Except for the fact that Fulmer has total control over the players he brings in.

It is a fact that the Titans mismanaged the salry cap and had to dump their best players.

Fisher was left with nothing to coach.

That is good he was left with nothing to coach, that probably suits him well. What is the excuse for all the years he had McNair and George? I know you got 1999 to hang on to, but what else?

It is amazing to learn Fisher has had zero input on the players that have come through nashville.

Fisher would rank at the top of the list of doing nothing with it.

Funny you highlight all the DBs as bad. You do know Fisher was a former DB? You would think that would be an area where he could evalute and get talent. Ha ha.

I never said that. The reason Reese was fired is because he and Fisher were not on the same page about what players were being brought in. Adams chose Fisher over Reese.

Again that is the exact reason Reese was fired.

Ha ha. Look at those guys, no matter how much coaching is done those guys aren't going to be able to stop Harrison, Moss, Owens etc. A coach is only as good as his players, bottom line.

What don't you understand about a G.M.'s role on the team? He has control over what players are brought in and managing the salary cap.

What don't you understand about the coach's record? Oh yea, I am always curious, what did Fisher do on all those draft days? Fish, hunt, watch Happy Days reruns? I mean it is obvious he was not needed or used in this area.

I understand that he rebuilt a franchise with McNair, George and co. from 8-8 in 1996 (George a rookie and McNair split time with Chandler) to the playoffs and a Super Bowl.

Then that team was blown up and he took a team with a rookie qb to an unexpected 8-8 record.

What part about Reese being fired, by the Owner, because he and Fisher were not agreeing on the players being brought in don't you understand?

Of course the HC says who he wants but in most cases the G.M. is the one who decides, and manages or in this case mismanages the salary cap.

Was it Fisher's fault they got rid of Rolle, Kearse, Mason etc? That would be the G.M. who was fired.

Look I am happy for your cruddy team, they keep Fisher for many more years. I hate the Titans, so this is good for me.
