Here's to hoping that my son's first Vol game will be a big win over the Nerds tomorrow. We got sweet tickets (center court, lower level) and I'm REALLY excited about taking him!

I you would be so kind as to take an orange to the game and bounce it off of Stallings forehead I would be forever grateful.

How old is he? Took my son to his first UT football game last season. Great experience!!

Just curious - did anyone else see the letter signed by Mike Hamilton that was on the seats in the two sections behind the visiting bench for the LSU game talking about sportmanship? I'd bet that those same letters will be there for the Vandy game as well. Not that anyone paid any attention to them, but I just found it interesting that they would do something like that anyway.

Have you taught him how to say "I hate Vandy" already?

Queue discussion on parents bringing kids to games that don't sit in their seats with their hands in their laps the whole time....

On a personal note: I think it's awesome you're taking him. I started taking my kid to bball games about the same time. It was great.

There is nothing I love more than to see a little kid at a B-Ball or Football game having the time of his life, but I absolutely hate it when a whole family shows up and the kids sit there and play their PSP's and the mom and dad sit there and discuss there day at work. Isn't that what Chuck E. Cheese is for?

Dragged mine (3.5 yr twins) to the UK v UARK game last weekend and had a ball. Game's actually fun when you don't truly have a dog in the fight and your kids don't have to see you acting like a raving lunatic over a frickin' game (like I do watching a televised Vol game).

Well. . . .needless to say, our first game together was awesome. He loved it all -- from the player intros to the cheerleaders to the blimp and (of course) the popcorn. It's so amazing to watch him take things in for the first time. I wish we could all see things through a child's eyes once in a while.

I agree. Now you need to take him to the rest of the games since he was there for possibly our best performance of the year (at least take him to the Gator and Wildcat games).Speaking of firsts, the first time I bought season tickets we won the N/C in football!:)
