Was 1997 the 500 yard game? I think you are right because 1996 was my last yr as a student and UK was the last home game.

1990 Alambama 9 Tennesse 6. Hated to lose, but I've been hooked ever since. My dad took me as an early 15th birthday present.

That one hurt. Its was the first of the 2 Bama games I've been to where we had a FG blocked that was for the win. In this game they kicked the game winner a few seconds later. I didn't speak for 2 days. ( Some people think that's a good thing.)

I remember going to the TN/USCe game when SC had Tannyhill as the QB. TN won that game. It was in the mid 90's I'm sure. Also, it was spitting snow and freezing rain that day. An awesome experience for me and the future wife!

Not sure which year. We dropped 50+ points on uk that year so it couldve happened in lexington. I know it wasnt against vandy. That game was close till he hit peerless on a deep ball down the side line.

The '97 game was when both Manning and Tim Couch had monster days passing the ball in Lexington

2006 Cal game. I had always wanted to go, but that was the first time I could manage it. It was an amazing introduction to the stadium.

Sept 27, 1975. Vols v Auburn at Neyland. It was the last season for Ralph Jordan. Bleachers in the north endzone, only half of the south upper deck built. Sat in Sec Q. Larry Seivers jumps up over 2 Aub defenders to pull down a bomb then goes in for the TD. Gary Roach (QB), Stanley Morgan (TB), Tommy West (TE), Andy Spiva (LB). Freshman Craig Puki was listed as a RB.

Not a rainman of UT football rosters. I still have the program. A classic. Cold Drinks $.50 & $.75, Baked Ham or Spiced Beef & Salami sandwich - $.80. Hot Dog - $.50. Oh, and you could buy a pack of cigs at the concession stand for $.60

Mine was back when Steve Tanihill (SP) from South Carolina was playing us. Everyone was making fun of him around us so I remember him. LOL

the first time i was near neyland stadium was for the vol walk for the oregon game last year, but the first UT game that i actually saw was later on that year against UK, then i came back to knoxville for the spring game. i had a great time all 3 times. when i was at the vol walk for the oregon game, i had never been around that many vol fans. i will always remember that. i am hoping to go to a game this year. GO VOLS!!!!

07 Cal game. My hatred for that school started that day when they started cheering and celebrating when somebody got hurt. Don't remember who it was though. I just remember him being down for a while.

Wow! A coke, hotdog and a pack of cigs for less than $2.00...man, how times have changed!

Dad was going to UT on GI Bill (Korean War) took me to my first. 1957 Georgia Tech. We won 21-6. As a 6 yr old ... loved the Ramblin' Wreck driving accross the field). No doubt after that I would go to UT. Been a VFL ever since.

Weezer got me to thinking about old games I have been to over the years. My first time to the Holy Temple of Football in Knoxville was in 1980 to see the Vols play UGA. We fumbled the game away late on about the 5 and lost by one. I had UGA fans behind me and had to hear all about it. I really hated the Dawgs. My hatred has cooled over the years. I still have my orange 9 (some of you know What I'm talking about) I've seen to many cool things there to list there. Now I'm wondering what was your first game live?
Not just weezer I mean everyone.

This will be my/our first game. Been a fan since 1990. Moved away from the area shortly after I started rooting.

My first game was the one against Buffalo. I was a Vol fan before, but now I'm addicted. I cannot wait to return to Knoxville. Now I just need to get in-state tuition!

1987 at Mississippi State...Vols won by 3 or 4 touchdows. The temperature on those metal bleachers that day had to be about 120.

First Neyland game was 1990 vs UTEP, a 56-0 beatdown. Sat right underneath the old "O" in the south endzone upper deck. I spent the entire game trying to get used to how steep the stands seemed.

Thanks for the welcome Pacer, emzeeee and Orangeslice. Looking forward to joining in on the VN fray. Gotta sign off and start loading the Volhoe (Tahoe) for the 5 hour trip to Ktown in the A.M. It takes a while to load the 7-day cooler with enough beverages for a long day of Tailgating.
