First Time in a Long Time

I think Tennessee has a better coaching staff than Alabama. With the Cochran exit, Saban lost the best in the business. The assistants are not near what the Tide has been used to having. None there very long. I hope this is the beginning of the end. They still have some of the best players that money can buy. I hope their recruiting suffers in 2021. I hate Crimson.
It's hard to believe Bama let Cochran go, I know Bama has the money to pay him. Come to think of it. It might be the Butch Jones effect going on at Bama.

Bama didn't even allow him to see or address the team when he let them know he was going to UGa. You would have thought that he'd at least get to say good bye to all who's life he has affected and enhanced. But, it is Saban.

As much as I hate Alabama, I will have to see it to believe it. Regardless, I believe Clemson is who we desperately need to come back down to earth and return to being irrelevant. They take a lot of kids we used to get out of GA (there's so much talent in GA Smart can't take them all) and the Carolinas. Also, Dabo's schtick is wearing thin with me.

Clemson has been poaching a lot of prospective Tennessee players. Have to admit, though, that with Butch and going back to Kiffin, Clemson had a lot of help.

I agree , now that the horn blower has been promoted, he is wee little Nickie's senior man time wise. How sad is that bama fans?

Golding and Banks have been there longer, and they're actually, you know, coaches. And of course, Sunseri has been with the program for five years, but there was a break in the middle.

Stars don't matter, they all get something. And not all at signing.

If we play the "player likeness" game, some "autographs" are going to be worth a lot. It's a fool's trap to even consider going there because it's simply a booster to player money laundry ... one that can't be policed.

Do you think it is being policed now?

Not effectively - NCAA has no powers to really investigate, and Bama whines and takes revenge when turned in for it. But semi-legalizing the money laundering seems incredibly stupid.

Bammer may drop off a little, but don't expect the sky to fall. Just dropping off a little though can cost them the West.
Little Nickey has total control of the bama program. I do not think their big money boosters will allow the replacement that. I hope their egos causes the Tide to struggle through the wilderness for at least 10 years, it happened pre Saban

It certainly important to have a great staff, but even more important to have a better roster than Alabama. I'm waiting for that day to return!

Uh, you can’t be serious. The current system can’t be policed. Permissible, documented pay from boosters and businesses are much more likely to be trackable. Businesses will obviously want to claim payments as a deductible expense. Schools don’t want it bc it will possibly/likely reduce deductible donations... Under the table payments will continue either way.

Saban shouldn’t have let Cochran address the full team. He just left at an awful time, in the middle of off season training, right before Spring practice starts....and he went to an in conference rival. Cochran can surely reach out individually and say “goodbye” to the players, but no way I let him address the full team. Saban was right imho.

The only negative here is that uga got a good S&C coach (albeit as a ST coach). As much as I dislike Bama, I despise uga, and certainly hope this doesn't mean they have a shot of getting over the hump. Perpetual heartbreak and disappointment is all I wish for that utterly annoying fan base and classless program. Picture a hobnail boot smashing a face for eternity - that's what I wish for that program (to use their mushmouthed, drunken sounding, joke of an announcer's metaphor)

Dabo wears his faith on his sleeve. I'm a believer myself, and respect anyone's faith. But when you continually make it an effort to show just how virtuous and pious you are, I tend to discount your sincerity a bit. For example, I have no doubt Tim Tebow is a believer, but I also don't doubt a bit he wants to ride that faith all the way to the bank.

Thomas Aquinas still says it best: Preach the Gospel always, and when necessary, use words.

Just my .02.
