IF everything continue to go good it will be the first time in 4 years that a Josh Heupel coached team has entered the season with out major adversity. In his second year by the time the season started he was down to his 3rd string true freshmen QB because of injury. 3rd season was because of covid and close to 11 major contributors chose to set out for the season. 4th season his first at Tennessee well we know how that went to start with. Key note the only season that he went in to with out some kind of major adversity his first season he was 12-1 so so lets hope that everything cont. to go smoothly and we add some key pieces and we can win 10+ games GO VOLS.

Love your enthusiasm, but this is not a 10 win roster and we are in the SEC. If we can get 7 regular season wins and a bowl win, that will be a terrific season for this roster. Having said that, if we can really clean up in the post spring portal and fill our needs and by needs, I mean get starting talent not just depth, I think we can bump those numbers up to 8/9 which would be incredible.

Seven wins is the floor and nine wins is the ceiling for 2023. We are another season away on defense for depth of having a possible 10 win season.

Like the enthusiasm, just need another recruiting class with some high rated defensive guys to get there. Offense likely won't ever be our problem with CJH here.

7-5 to10-2 and anything in between is possible for next year's team.

This is some good quality humor right here.
I don’t care if Tom Landry is coaching the Vols.... we don’t have the Jimmy’s and Joe’s.

I don't think we have any idea what the ceiling is. Teams make the biggest improvement between a 1st and 2nd season of a new coach. We don't know who is going to develop and how much. Who saw Theo Jackson or Cedric Tillman or Hendon Hooker being the players they became last year? Think knowing that would have changed our perception of this team's ceiling? Maybe Tyler Baron becomes a force at SDE. Maybe Omari Thomas and Elijah Simmons turn into the monsters they're capable of being. Maybe Young and Harrison become elite forces off the edge. Maybe some DBs like Hadden, Turnage, Burrell (who has all the potential), McDonald, and/or Charles develop into studs. Maybe Crawford, Parker, and/or Mincey develop on the Oline. Maybe Wright adds weight and improves at RB. Maybe some of the these freshmen, like Webb, White, Williams, Sampson, West, etc. are ready to contribute early after arriving early. Maybe one of those stud TEs who were freshmen last year (Campbell and Nixon) blossom. Maybe Jimmy Calloway and Jalin Hyatt become what they're capable. Maybe Juwan Mitchell and Aaron Willis come on at LB (or someone else).

Maybe none of this happens. Maybe all of this happens. Neither of those scenarios is likely...most likely, SOME of this happens. How much will determine the ceiling of this team.

I don't know, I think in year two and with what we have returning the offense will be a little better. I think the big improvement we will see will be on the defensive side, the pass rush will be better and I think we will see improvements at all three levels. Not saying major improvements but if we get just a little better and get off the field more on third down the offense will have more opportunities. Would not be surprised to see 9-10 wins in the regular season and believe 8 would be the floor. GBO!
