Hey guys, I just purchased two tickets for the home game against Mizzou on Nov. 10th. And it will be MY FIRST TENNESSEE FOOTBALL GAME EVER. I grew up in TN and have been a die-hard Vols fan ever since I was 12. I know there are some veterans on here that go to the games religiously, and I am wondering if yall could give me some tips and let me know what to expect (besides mizzou getting their asses kicked). Im super pumped just to be at Neyland to say the least. Thanks

Come early and stay late. Soak it all in. Vol Walk is a must see. Congratulations on attending your first game. You'll never forget it.

Be sure to get there early to see the T. Alot of folks like the Vol walk and hangin out down by the Vol Navy area. Before the home games, I usually sit at Cool Beans so I can watch all the other games.

As a student, what I will do on gameday. Pregame with beverages. Volwalk. Immediately in to Neyland for warmups(Gotta be there early just to watch the stadium fill up.) Depending on your style of eatery I suggest Calhoun's or Gus's Deli. You need to also see the VolNavy.

Me and my wife do the same thing each gameday. First, Calhoun's. Then we stroll around, check out the vol navy, see campus and all the great things like that. After that, we claim our spot for the vol walk, then its straight into neyland for petros and vol football!

Vol walk and the band coming thru are must see's. Then get in the stadium early. Also players exit at gate 21 after the game if you're looking to get autographs afterwards.

Let's lay this out exactly so you know. I think it's 2:30 hours before kickoff is the Vol walk. Just follow everyone else on Phillip Fulmer way. After its over wait the 45 minutes until the band comes down and salute the hill. Then you are free to do whatever until about 30 minutes before kickoff. Get in the stadium and find your seats and enjoy the pregame tradition unrivaled in college football.

Your welcome

I hope you get to see that this year. It's been a while since the place was truly packed...starting with the student section. Do you think the students are fired up this year and use their tickets?

After the Vol Walk, be sure to catch the Salute to the Hill down by gate 21.

^This, if you play it right, you can stand at the end of the Vol Walk (Gate 21), see the players and coaches and then basically stay in the same place for the Salute to the Hill. If it is an afternoon game, we USED to go stand in the parking garage and find a place right at the corner of Andy Holt and CPF. Don't know if the garage is still going to be there this year. Then straight to the stadium to lose the excess beverages, buy the smoky dawgs, peanuts, large drink and water, to the seats, and settle in for the first half. Typical visit to Neyland for me.....my little slice of heaven.

If you want to, you can get barbeque or pizza at Vol Village over near the path of the Vol Walk and sometimes they have music there or games or give-aways. You are nearby for the Vol walk and the band.

Do get to the stadium to watch the warm-ups. Have a great time!

My first gameday was in 1998 against Florida. I was 8. I'll never forget it.
