First steps in right direction....

One thing about Jimmy, he sure did surround himself with great position coaches. Most of them didn't turn out to be that great as head coaches, but I wouldn't have any fear of him hiring a Slade/Stephens/Washington/Chavis type coach.
I'm not sure how a National Championship winning defensive coordinator ends up on a list with those other three oafs.

I'm not sure Chavis' reputation hasn't been helped over the years because he had a bunch of talent on these defenses. His defenses have not been able to stop a 3rd and long conversion in I don't know how long, his defenses have struggled with the option, the instances of him outcoaching/scheming are few and far between since Miami 2003, and this past weekend showed that he just isn't able to stop the oposing teams goto playmaker.

Whatever......Hat, I asked you a question directly, you couldn't answer it, BPV, you don't have any answers either.....all you can say is Fulmer should go....while I don't disagree with this, it is not going to happen.....there would still be a mutiny in the State of Tennessee so far......so, comeback at me with your intellectual answers when you have them.....other then grade my paper on spelling errors.....you cant say jack

Come back when you know how to properly read and write the English language. Occasional typos are understandable, but you write with the quality of a D student in the fourth grade.

I am looking at it from M Hamilton's point of view....made a great hire with BP and as you could tell tonight on Vol calls Fulmer has alot more supporters then not.....why would MH make a change now when he looks like a genius for the BB hire?? But thanks for the personal attack, if it makes you feel better or superior go ahead

its just funny how on vol calls that not one person questioning fulmer got on to talk to him while on the air. its funny how there was only one caller who immediately got hung up on when questioning phill.

What's so funny about it? They pre-screen all callers. If you're not a Fulmerite, then they don't field your call on the show. If you fake being a Fulmerite, make it on to the show, and then ask a difficult question they immediately cut you off and move on the the Fulmerite behind door #2.

What's surprising is that some of you think that you're going to get any kind of hard-hitting analysis of UT's problems on a show called Vol Calls on which the team's head coach fields questions.

It starts with finding DT's and DE's that want to get after the QB and stop the run thats when Chavis had his best Defense's....Bolden is softer than tissue and Mapu hasn't been the same since he has come back

this thread is amazing. I have never thought of the Fulmer situation from the "Mike Hamilton made a great Bball hire, so he would be an idiot to try to make a great Fball hire" standpoint. It really opens my eyes, to the almost bama-like delusional of a portion of our fanbase.

Back on the subject...

I think the best thing that could be done would be what has already been said.

CPF Take over as the OLine Coaching Duties, Bring in a Special Teams Coach. Get rid of Chavis and bring in a Defensive Master Mind... Who that is.. I don't know.

Fulmer is staying sooooooooo if he wants to really turn this around like he said tonight:

He has to get rid of Chavis, Dline coach and secondary coach....

Hire a special teams coach..........

Just for starters.....what else guys needs to happen??

I think we are going to be better off without Ainge.....whether it is JC or not next year!!

This is a positive thread....we are stuck with CPF, so we might as well make it positive and God forbid to have a lil fun on here!!

How do you know that Fulmer is staying?

My dream is that Jimmy Johnson would like to cash four more $4 million dollar checks and help his mentor twist the knife in Fulmer. The reality is more in line with a Gary Patterson/Rich Rodriguez type.

Who's JJ's mentor?

Defensive speed. I don't see it with the 11 they trot out there every Saturday. That is much of the problem. If it is on the bench they need to get it off the bench.

are we better off firing fullmer and clearing house, loosing coach cutt, cheif and staff or risking hiring a whole new squad and the risk of going through what bama went through the last couple of years before they got saban?
hamilton had a good experience with the hiring of pearl...can he land a great football coach that recruits would love to play for too???

I think it will and should happen this way.....AMEN

I'd talk to Mike Hamilton and pick my own successor and bring him in as a coordinator under a 2 year plan to transition out of the head coaching job and into a cushy job in the AD's office. There would be a clear plan in place and I'd have another couple of years to chase another title and any questions about my job would be off the table.
