Asking because I'm screwing around with the on-demand student tickets and row 1 in E keeps popping up. I've heard it on here before, just wanted to make sure. I'll probably get row 20-25 or so regardless

If you actually want to watch the game...yea. You'll spend more time craning your neck towards the jumbotron than you will looking at the field. That's really the case for Rows 1-6ish. Don't get me wrong...sitting that low is fun, but you have no perspective of the field at all.

I'll be in Row 5 of E.

I'll be in Row 1. Bit the bullet and decided I'd try something different fun-wise, considering I'm someone who prefers to see the entire field and usually likes the seats starting around row 25. Probably won't do this again, but I thought I'd have some fun with it. Only issue is I'll have to watch the ESPN3 replay win or lose.

This is pretty much how all of my weekends have been. Go to game, have fun. Watch on espn3 or dooley show afterwards

Row 3 of Section F. Praying I don't encounter some entitled sorostitute who is under the impression that she owns the entire row.

This. Or people bringing 20 of their friends to sit with them because they are close to the field. Annoying.

The worst. I started arriving at the games earlier to make sure I didn't have to deal with kicking people out of my seat. The student section was fun but that is 1 aspect of it I do not miss. Though I may go back for MBA in 2013 and will gladly deal with it again to save mucho moolah.

One cool aspect about being close to the field is you really get a sense of how fast the action really is. The down side is unless the action is within 20 yards of you it is hard to see.

Personally I like to be up in row 50ish (preferably somewhere between the 20 yrd lines). You get a nice panoramic view and if it rains you are in the dry.

I have only sat in row 1 once. I was a student at the time, so I was in section E. It was during the Arkansas game in 1998 (Stoernover). While we could not see a lot of the game. Clint Stoerner dropped the ball right in front of us, so it was worth it. I would take the tickets. You might just see something magical.

I guess I have a different opinion from everyone else, when I was at UT I sat in the first row three times and loved it.

At the end of my time at UT, I really liked the first two rows in DD, EE, FF.

happened to me in the georgia game. i was in i1, and drunk sorostitue ties to kick me and my friends out of our seats claiming she was there before she went to the restroom. then we showed her our tickets, and she proceeded to tell us that she didnt care what we said, those were her seats, and that she left her purse there and one of us moved it. later i saw her a section over. turns out she didnt know the difference between "i" and "j"

When I was a student, I twice sit at Sec C, row 1, about 45 yard line. It was cool that you sit right behind the Tennessee bench, watching players and coaches doing their things (I once heard Chavis cussing out Ryan Karl). However, the view was pretty bad. It was impossible to see anything on either side of the field, which means no red zone action, no scoring action, no TD. Basically I watched all Tennessee TD from the jumbotron in that game.

Those seats are the best, except when it rained during the game, you had to set your feet into a pool of nasty rain water.

Yeah, if you're gonna be row 1, it's best to be near the goal line. That way at least you get an epic seat for half of the scoring plays.

Being on the 50 sucks... You can marginally see at both ends, but you don't get a good view of either end zone.

The best seat if you're drunk, is to be on the 1 at the goalline on the North end, so you can see the jumbotron easily to catch the action on the other side of the field. I say if you're drunk, mainly because it's a lot of fun to just soak in the atmosphere and be close, but you won't see half the game.

First row seats are a double edged sword depending on where you're sitting. When the action is on your side of the field and up close then they're awesome. When play is on the opposite side then they can be a pain.
