I was disappointed and upset....said some things I should not have completely out of ignorance.

I could not be happier with the choice at this point. I don't think we could have hired anyone who would have done a better job with what he had to work with, and in this period of time. I think he has the potential to be here a long time, and reach a legendary status.

I owe Dave Hart an apology, at least on this hire. And I owe Butch some serious respect.

Im not voting due to lack of choices. My first thought was "Central Michigan was good and Cincinnati is good, maybe it'll work out." I was optimistic and glad the Gruden love fest/laughing stock was over.

Pretty much sums it up for me, as well.

I get what you are saying but the Gruden threads were some of the best ever on Volnation, imo.

When I first read it, I couldn't believe how bad they misspelled "Jon Gruden"
Seriously, wasn't sure but took the wait and see attitude. Glad it was not Strong or Gundy.

I do not think I could have survived the last season of Dooley without the Gruden thread. That was honestly the most fun I have had on VN.

I agree completely. Without those threads to distract and entertain, I would have...

Well, I don't want to think about what I would have done.

I soooo badly wanted a coach with solid NFL experience and was astounded/bummed when CBJ was announced as his name was really not being tossed on VN as an option. Just appeared that Hart grabbed the last straw and we were settling. However, my biggest take away from the CBJ hire is that a seasoned NFL coach would have not gone out on the recruiting trail like Butch has. That is his, IMO, #1 strength. CBJ has plenty others mind you, but he loves being out in the trenches with recruits and their families and his results are, well, priceless.

I honestly thought, oh well, Tennessee, really can't attract a proven name brand head football coach any longer........I was indeed sad.....but now I'm glad!

I was more wait & see to be honest. At that point, how could it get worse?!? But remember going straight to YouTube videos. HE! HAD! FIRE! We had been missing that for SOOOO long ....I wanted him to succeed from the very get go. It's nice having a coach like him finally!!!!! I finally feel like "next year" will be wayyyy too fun. He is bringing us back, and I get to watch!!! Thank You Butch!

Until he beat Florida (consistently), he's just another coach.

He will don't worry. If you cant see the talent Butch is bringing to Tennessee then you don't know football. Tennessee will be back on top of the SEC before long. And if your on top of the SEC then you are going for National Championships. Our defense is going to be a beast. We will have 5 star kids lined up to come play for the Vols and Butch.

Did not know who he was at the time.. did not even remember he was cincy's coach..

Although after I read up on his history I thought it "could" be a pretty good hire for us.

He was a proven winner which was much better then the previous two hires, the only question was could he carry that winning history over into the SEC.

While technically that is still yet to be determined.. the two SC wins when we were underdogs, the fact he and his staff are the best recruiters in the east(at least).. could be the whole SEC if you take into account where our program has been the past 6-7 years and having to overcome that obstacle. These two things give me the up-most confidence that CBJ will put us back to the double digit win column.

The only question left(in my mind) is can he also win the ones that matter the most.. the SEC crown, playoff games, and the NC itself.

I(like every other UT fan) hope he can, because I would love nothing more then to have CBJ as our coach until the man is ready to stop coaching for good.

I said its good to be a Tennessee VOL!!!!

Here is to another Decade of Dominance :fireworks::fireworks::girl1::girl1::baloon::baloon:
