Yeah but he probably would be out anyhow for knee surgery so it would be what it is this year regardless.

I haven't read all the responses to this post but here's what I've been wondering. I don't claim to be a coach. I did play in HS, and coached a few years of 11 & 12 year old Jr Pro. When the dreaded Kif was here, the one thing he did that helped Crompton was to put in several plays where they are designed roll out pass plays. Crompton (and sadly Kif too) looked much better than before those plays were installed. With an offensive line that is truly offensive (no offense guys), it could give JW a little more time to throw. Yes, I realize JW is not that mobile, but neither was Crompton and it worked for him. Does anyone else wonder why we haven't installed a few of these designed roll out pass plays? :unsure:

First play:

Worley is in shotgun, takes the snap, 1 mississippi, 2 mississippi...

Nkemdiche uses his right arm to plant Crowder in the turf, his left hand to push Robertson into Thomas (who was already beat by the time the ball hit Worley's hands).

Nkemdiche drives Worley into the ground (a fumble ensues because..well duh.) A mad dog pile and Nkemdiche come up with the ball in his right hand and the head of Justin Worley in his left.

Probability: 87.88%

First play: ole miss rushes only 1 lineman, but he still manage to get to Worley and causes a fumble.

How about a shuttle pass up the middle to Hurd, it was there all day in the Georgia game. As fast as the defensive line is going to collapse the pocket have Hurd chip catch the flip/shuttle pass up the middle for 30 to 40 yards. It would help keep them honest?

College football is an emotional game. Given that defensive lines are pumped up and have their ears pinned back and want a big sack right off the bat, plus given we have an inexperienced nervous and tight Oline one of the best plays Ive seen work time and time again is a simple play action naked bootleg where the tight end falls down intentionally rolls out and gives the quarterback an option to either run or dump off a short pass to the end who has no coverage. 60 percent of the time it works all the time. Ron burgandy says so.

This is a great thread! I'm really glad to see how many real Vol Fans are out there. I can't believe there hasn't been one of those, "Unless you're a SEC coach, you don't know anything at all about football, and our coaches never need any suggestions, from you or anybody else, everything they do is perfect, almost divine........." type posts! My suggestion to the coaches is, watch the last 6 game films (Ole Miss has a D coach or two watching), if something is working keep it, if it is not working-game after game, stop.
