You're only here to wallow in the misery. It's all you've got. You aren't a UT fan and most would call you a troll on par with the op

Yeah definitely not a UT fan PJ. Good call... lol someone is salty.

no difference, still can't win a meaningful game. jones gave the game away tonight. people said I was crazy when I said fulmer would get canned. I said when dooley was hired it was a matter of time. I gave jones a chance, but he Is a joke. it is a matter of time.

Maybe so, the verdict is still out. I didn't like the Debord hire at all. It really "said" a lot about Jones.
Time will tell, we have came a long way from where we were with DD, you have to admit.

Then write a check or stfu

I wanted to buy into the hype. even went to the game in Nashville last weekend. if you want to wear your blinders and think we are going in the right direction that is fine. if I remember you told me to give dooley a chance as well. jones is not the answer in Knoxville. now that I'm sure they won't get anymore of my money until they want a winner.

Yes, because coaches want to come to a school that is reeling in recruits because of a specific coach (Butch Jones).

It's really overstated that the recruiting is solely due to Butch.

Fulmer signed numerous top 5 classes here. Majors had a ton of stocked classes and big time recruits. Kiffin signed the top recruit in the nation and was lining up a top 5 class when he left. The only coach we've had in the past 30 years who has really failed consistently with recruiting was Dooley.

Why does everyone here assume that Butch is the be-all and end-all for our recruiting?

Personally, I'm sick of winning our championships in February. I'd like to have a guy who I actually feel confident can take what talent he has and make the most of it and outcoach the other guy when it matters.

You only show up to discuss when bad things are happening just like the op or a couple others who popped up tonight. Pretend all you want but you know what you are on here and how you get your kicks. You're a sad little man

jones needs to be replaced, by somebody that has a clue. he is a great recruiter, but the hire of debord alone should have got him canned. he can't coach. looks like another 500 season this year. it is time to replace hart, pay a real AD to come in and pick us a great coach.

Dude STFU!!!!!! Sell your tickets and go watch Ohio state

it all comes down to money. look jones is a horrible coach yet some how he gets great recruits to come here. I have 0% faith in jones. he has shown he is no better than a high school coach. he is on Dooley's level. my question is why wait.

Please just go back under the rock that you crawled out from under

I agree bro. I was optimistic this year. I know 100% for sure now though that jones is not the answer. great coaches do not throw games like that away. he is not the answer and if he isn't don't wait. make the switch

I think butch is a great recruiter, just a crappy coach.

What I'm saying is that I think a lot of guys would decommit if we changed staffs.

It's a lot of work to recruit! In addition, it's hit-or-miss if a new guy comes in.

I've been a Butch supporter because I like the way he promotes the university and what he has done in recruiting, but tonight stung really bad and a lot of it falls on the coaching staff. You have got to play to win in big time college football and if you are going to run Kamara (not sure why Hurd wasn't in) up the gut on 3rd and goal from the 1, then be damn ready to go for it on 4th down from the half yard line. He is too conservative on those calls and has been since he got here. Here's the reality - he is a below .500 coach at UT and as much as I want him to succeed, unless he wins some big games this year (UF and UGA), then he will get another year because the AD is scared to make another change, but it might be time to look in a different direction. This was a game you have got to win and this one hurts about as bad as any game in a long time (2000 UF game, 2001 SEC Champ Game, 2013 UGA game). And DeBord was probably out of coaching for a few years for a reason.

So 4th and maybe less than 1 early in the game. We kick a field goal. Jones talks about "teaching moments". Well we have what we have in the OL ... Early in the game, with Hurd at ~242lbs .... It's a " teaching moment" and we kick for 3. Most of that is on the coaches, if not all of it, turned out probably made a difference. This is 2 years in a row, I'm looking for them to learn from those moments, just like they expect from their players.

We heard the same thing in the Dooley era.

It's better to miss on some guys in the short term and find coach who can actually utilize talent, than load up on guys and then just waste them and continue getting embarrassed in big games at home.

Besides, eventually, the recruiting will dwindle if we never win anything. And at that point, we'll be looking at a much bigger rebuild for a new coach to take on.
