Here's an article about it:
Depth Chart Notes | Drew's Notebook | GoVolsXtra.com

If anyone can find the entire chart feel free to post, but that article tells you about all you need to know. This is what it seems to look like:

QB: 1. J. Crompton/B. Coleman/N. Stephens
RB: 1. M. Hardesty
FB: 1. K. Cooper
WR: 1. G. Jones 2. A. Rogers 3. T. Maples 4. T. Campbell
WR: 1. Q. Hancock/D. Moore/B. Warren 4. A. Paige
TE: 1. J. Cottam/L. Stocker
LT: 1. C. Scott
LG: 1. V. Richard
C: 1. J. McNeil/C. Sullins
RG: 1. J. McClendon 2. C. Pope 3. D. Sawtelle 4. M. Bowens
RT: 1. J. Shaw/A. Douglas
LE: 1. B. Martin 2. W. Bohannon 3. G. Williams
NT: 1. D. Williams 2. C. Nelson
DT: 1. W. Brown 2. M. Hughes 3. V. Thomas 4. A. Mathis
RE: 1. C. Walker
SLB: 1. L. Thompson/S. Reveiz 3. C. Donald 4. D. Vereen
MLB: 1. N. Reveiz/H. Lathers 3. N. Mitchell-Thornton
WLB: 1. R. McCoy
CB: 1. A. Evans 2. M. Johnson 3. C. Fleming
SS: 1. E. Berry 2. D. Furlow 3. R. Wilks
FS: 1. P. Waggner/S. Raines
CB: 1. D. Rogan/B. Vinson 3. A. Anderson

KR: 1. D. Rogan 2. E. Berry
PR: 1. G. Jones 2. D. Rogan

When I put slashes that's not a guess, it's just that our official depth chart lists both those players (or all three) as starters, signifying that they are still in competition. Not much we didn't expect, I don't think, but RT, SLB (because of Shane Reveiz) and CB (to a degree, because Evans seems to be ahead of both Vinson and Rogan) gave me some surprises.

G. Jones is listed as the no. 1 punt ret. I'm hopeing Nuke can take that away in the fall.

So berry might actually get to return some kicks this year. Thats awesome

i've always liked the idea of berry as a punt returner. he seems like he could find a hole and return one to the house with the way he runs back interceptions

I've always thought Hardesty has great potential. I'm really pulling for him to stay healthy and put together a solid season.

Obviously speed is not the only factor in KRs, but it's a big one. Berry definitely has some wheels. How does Nuke match up with him in the speed department? Is Berry currently the fastest Vol? If not, who is (just curious)?

If we're ahead big late in a game, we should throw Jacque and Vlad back there to field some kicks just to see what happens.

Two questions:

1. Why is Hughes behind Brown? Everybody said he would start...

2. Why not Nysher Oliver at Kick or Punt returner? Going by pure specs, he IS the fastest player in the '09 class...

Oh, and I know Oliver can't play tomorrow, as he is a freshman, just wanted to pose the question for discussion. I really want him to get some looks in the summer.

This has freshman starters written all over it...

I've heard a lot of buzz around Hughes but I think Brown usually started with the first team in scrimmages. No worries though, I'm sure they'll rotate at least 4 defensive tackles so Hughes will play plenty.

There are so many potential freshman kick returners it's tough to keep track of them. I wouldn't be shocked if Oliver gets a shot. It'll be interesting to see how many of the freshman get serious playing time.

Alright thanks. I really want to see this "6-4, 312 lb. Eric Berry" for myself. :D

And the fact that many true freshmen will get time speaks highly of the job of the UberStaff. (at least in recruiting)

I somewhat agree with that.

When we have players that can solidly return punts/kicks, why would we risk injury with EB there? I think that Nuke, Rogan, or Oliver would be great there.

Does anyone else think its possible that none of the incoming freshmen get redshirted this year?

Special Teams is where a lot of injuries occur. I know football is a contact sport, but if we lose our best player it will really hurt. I say let him play D and not risk an injury. We need him more on D than in the return game. I expect Nuke or another incoming frosh to take over the return game once they get here. Oku could be a beast in the return game.
