Would you take Coach Cut as the HC if he brought P Manning in as an OC over what we have or Freeze?
Sorry I am just tired of thinking about politics and how bad we suck
Go Vols

Every coaching hire post on here lately is nothing but hypothetical, it's a big reason the Legion of Miserables are having such a great time as they only debate what ifs, woulda, shoulda and coulda type statements.

Pruitt not going anywhere but back to the office to try and figure out how to develop our QB's and defend the slant. Can we find another topic? Basketball season officially starts for the Vols tomorrow at 6pm est...time to pivot to bball.

I would take Cut but he's too old to offer anything long term which would hurt recruiting. What qualifies Manning to be an OC?

Neither is happening. Cutcliffe is nearly done (look at his record) and Peyday has
no interest - he has said this on multiple occasions. Nothing is changing until at
least 2022 head coaching wise. The fiasco three years ago that Haslam, Jim Jr. and
Manning were part of - has changed the lights. As Fulmer cited, "I know where the
bodies are buried," when he was rehired.

NO.

Cut is past his prime and Peyton has no coaching experience. Freeze is a proven winner in the SEC. The only person out there who MIGHT be a better candidate than Freeze is Urban Meyer and I'd still take Freeze because he WANTS TO BE HERE.

It's common sense... if we're going to make a change. It has to be Freeze. There is no plan B. There are no other options. It's Freeze. Freeze. Freeze. Freeze. Anything less would be failure. LET'S GOOOO

Coach Cut is not coming to UT to coach. We should not ask him to come here; we are not asking him to come here. Manning is not coming to UT to coach. We should never, ever ask for that. He has a legacy. It is intact; it is incredible.

This is time for something new; this is time for someone new.

We have to look at the numbers - read the data, interview the coaches, and find the one person.

It really is not that hard. It takes a surprising amount of effort, a good amount of intentional thoughtfulness, a decent show of intelligence, and lots of money.

We are often a 'lil bit shy on one or more of those ingredients.

Michael Jordan is running a team. How’s that working out? Or maybe Derrick Jeter?

Absolutely no! Coach Cut is now 66 years old and Peyton Manning is not going to take any coaching position period. Get back in the real world.

I don't disagree but qualifies Pruitt to be HC? Inheriting Saban's #1 defense from Kirby Smart and keeping it elite with an endless stream of 4 and 5* prospects in the 2 deep.
