I also believe we are great offensively. I mean Vescovi, Johnson, Springer, Bailey, and Fulky. The pieces to the puzzle are there. We plug them in, and bam!Anyone that is a regular to this board doesn't think we suck. I think most just want to see us shore up some of the offensive inconsistency, but we all agree this team is as elite defensively as any team in UT history.
The fact we are 4 shows the NeT is completely bs. There is nothing about our body of work that suggest we should be 4
sorry
with that said. We will take it !!
The NET, explained: NCAA adopts new college basketball rankingI don't know the exact metrics used to create the NET, but it is also surprising to me that we're as high as #4. Hey, I'll take it though!
I just am surprised that Colorado, Missouri, and Arkansas wins are good enough to pole vault us that high.
Yeah, UT overall has pretty bad basketball fans. Bad in the sense that they're just so unknowledgeable about the sport to begin with, then they also don't understand the nuances of college basketball. That's not to say that we lack anything in passion, that's most certainly not the case.Anyone that is a regular to this board doesn't think we suck. I know I've beaten a dead horse on this topic, but I'm 100% convinced that fan culture with UT basketball is nowhere near the level at which the team has been performing since Pearl was here. I think the fanbase would be substantially more savvy on bball if we didn't have such a rich football tradition. Jmo.
Confirms that everyone, or most, tend to take singular losses with too much significance.I lived in Kentucky for a long time. I’d argue their average fan has even less knowledge than the average UT fan.
Their quantity of casual fans who watch maybe, 25% of their games in a season and know next to nothing about basketball is staggering.
And on the flip side, I’ll give you an anecdote.
Back when I had a real job, my boss was a very well educated guy. Ph.D and all that. And he was a dedicated UK fan. Followed recruiting, watched all the games.
Without fail, every time they would lose he would rant about how they should fire Cal. Boggled my mind.
I know they would like to host it at Chaifetz Arena. TBA dwarfs Chaifetz which has a little over 10K capacity. It is really a nice basketball Arena. Not sure when SLU will start playing again. It's my understanding that they let some of the local players go home around holidays, and they brought back Covid. They had things going their way until Covid hit. Interesting story on the Arena name. Richard Chaifetz a billionaire alum put up money for naming rights. When he went to SLU he ran out of money and went to the Jesuit President and told him if he would see his way to allowing him to finish his education that he and SLU would never regret it. He also has his name on SLU business school. He wanted to purchase the Rams before they moved.had been looking forward to see slu-davidson. hope it can be rescheduled before A10 tourney
, what are odds SLU will host?
Tennessee VolunteersIf you had to bet on what seed TN ends up with (not what they would have right now), what are you guessing? I would say a 5 seed, maybe 4
