Liked him before. This is exactly what I expected and am glad he delivered. Next step, it's time to deliver on the recruits.

The amount of excitement I have is undescribable....I just have to calm down...thank god we have bball to get us to spring practice.

Some key comments he made.

1-I agree he handle the ouster of Fulmer with class and I think did well to save face with the players....made sure they understood he wasn't involved with the situation till after the decision about Fulmer was made.

2- He IS and WILL be a PHENOMANAL recruiter...I liked the reference to USC and how he had to sell the program at it's worst point, showing that he didn't benefit from the program there and how much better our facilities and support is here and that it won't be hard to do here too.

3- I liked how he kept jabbing the media they would ask him a question and before they could get two words out, he would be like "tell me your name so I know who I am talking too" John adams and Hyams and Hubbs were like whaaaaa you don't know meeeee?!?!

I realize he has not coached one game, but man I like his attitude. It sounded to me like no one was safe and everyone would be vying for a starting role. I love the comment about having new recruits play immediately. I would imagine this would really help on the recruiting trail. He seemed a bit awkward at first when discussing non-football stuff, but once the topic of X's and O's came about, he sure settled right in. I realize people may have been put off by the Florida or Oakland comment, but I for one loved it. We despise people like Spurrier and Meyer for those same reasons. It's about time we had a coach we could be proud of and the rest of the conference hate. I also thought he handled the Fulmer part real well.

SIDE NOTE: I really feel like this could be the start of something special. Who knows if it will translate into wins, but one thing is for certain, it is going to be an interesting ride. I hope CPF and the rest of the staff find what they want and deserve. Although I too was ready for a change, I have a tremendous amount of respect for him and his staff and wish them nothing but the best.

I went to this link:
University of Tennessee Football Official Athletic Site

Above the article you will see this link:
Football Press Conference - 12/1 2:00 p.m.

I clicked on that. Then it prompted me to download some silver microsoft viewer or whatever it's called and I did it. Then I clicked on the press conference link again and up popped what appeared to be a live video feed but I guess it's just a replay of the initial press conference. I'm still waiting at this point to see if they are going to play it again. Some guy just came on and said they'd be starting promptly at 2 p.m. so, again, I guess it's just a replay but they haven't cut out all of the dead time yet.

A guy just stepped to the podium and said, "got about 2 minutes." The video has been running for 10 minutes now....with nothing but a podium showing.

Hope this helps.

Ok, it's on. Do what I just told ya and you should see it after waiting for 13 minutes 21 seconds of seeing nothing but podium.

Mike Hamilton is speaking first.

Good luck to you guys with the new hire, I like the guy despite the fact he has never coached (HC) at the college level, and hopefully he gets UT back quickly, much more fun in the East when you guys are competitive

Very classy. Said all of the right things to bring the Volnation together. Reached to the past and projected to the future. I like that he is young too. It means he is hungry and ready to work.
