I think he definitely won the press conference. I didn't hear the work "heck" once.
I was disappointed he said "get the ball to the playmakers", brings some memories of that Clawful O this year

Overall attitude A+,Personable,Direct,Focused.

WOW.

The way he talked about growing up talking X's and O's
Made me think of him as the Peyton Manning of the Coaching World........:eek:k:

Does anyone else feel relieved.

Very impressive. I think his youth and fire are just what the program needs. He will have very good press conferences as he gets settled in. He seems to be open, honest, and quick witted.

I hope he convinces Crompton and Stephens to transfer. Even Cutcliffe said that Coleman is the only one that isn't dumb as a rock.

I third the man crush! The press conference was awesome! I love the fact that he said that there is are no starters and that every players has to earn that starting job. I also love his energy and intensity. You can tell he wants nothing but the best for UT! I also liked the fact that he said he wasn't going to promise how many wins they'll have or how many championships. That will shut some of the naysayers up I think. I also liked how he really showed how much respect he had for Fulmer, what class! I'm already excited about the spring and the upcoming football season! What a great time to be a TENNESSEE VOL!!!! GO BIG ORANGE!!

I love this quote he made . He vowed his offense will be physical: "If you are not physical, you are not playing."

I felt pretty good about the hire before the presser.

I feel really good about the hire afterwards.

He used the word recruiting a lot and is cleary a determined recruiter.
He called out Urban Meyer. We thought spurrier and fulmer were entertaining in the 90's, I can't wait to see weasel get a taste of his own "hotshot" medicine.
He said the coaching staff would be phenomental. He didn't have to say that, and there is no major reason to even discuss their reputations. We're gonna have a phenomental coaching staff.

oh yeah... man crush indeed! im ready for spring ball!!!

Go get those recruits!

I think its good that he sought out advice and friendship from Peyton and tee and in the future Mr. Fulmer.. will serve him better in the long run =)

GO VOLS!!!

The guys can talk a great game, cant wait to see if he can coach one! Anyone else notice all the nervous energy with the way he was moving around abunch behind the podium and he stumbled over a few words? I think thats a very good thing though, it shows just how important he thinks this job is! he spoke with an aroogance about him that we have been missing around here for along time also!

Yeah I hope he does too so we can have a RS soph with 22 career passing yards and one pick and 2 true freshman as our QB depth chart.
That is a recipie for success. hope he reads the board.

I like how he is retaining four of the coaches for now as a type of on the job interview. These coaches will have to stay committed and focused on bringing in the best players in order to have a shot at being on the staff.

I am officially fired up! The guy has charisma that I think will lend itself well. Who wouldn't want to play for someone young and passionate about the program that said he has no intention of bolting for the NFL?

That's pretty much how I feel. I was satisfied with the hire considering the coaching ammo he's bringing with him, but after hearing and seeing his passion and fire, I'm really excited.

i hope hes at dissaplain on and off the field. i think if he surrounds himself with good people as he says he is, and if scott stays. we could even get a transfer from one of the 3 sophmore tb's from USC too, hopefully joe mcknight, he is a wr/tb hybrid kinda like harvin.

Just not his element. I'd rather have the coach who's more concerned with recruiting and X's and O's versus the coach more concerned with taking a good picture. He seems very anxious to get things started.

I agree, but it was still pretty funny to me. Hey, I guess he would think I was in pain if he watched me during my Final exams.
