First impressions from Kiffin's press conference
Writing this as the press conference is on, so it may be a little jumbled... at least until my feed went dead.
Most impressive. Ive read that this was the job that he really wanted. He couldve gone to Clemson or Washington, and maybe he couldve waited for ND to open up. However, add in todays press conference, and I really believe that this job was one that he really saw as a great opportunity for the tradition and the chance to take this program to the top.
The fact that he isnt shying away from the pressure of this job is great, and he seems to understand how much this football program means to the state of Tennessee. He also doesnt seem to be a Nick Saban/job jumper type. He also comes across as someone who will really be able to sell the program to recruits. He also mentioned that he sees himself as a better fit for the college game. NOT GOING BACK TO NFL because of WHAT HE THINKS OF TENN!
Physical = Tenn Football.
Speed = SEC football.
Only thing that makes me slightly nervous is that hell call his own plays, but that may be from being set in my ways and used to Fulmer delegating that to an offensive coordinator.
He is extremely well spoken, and the way he showed respect to Coach Fulmer, Chavis, and the others is very reassuring.
