I agree,lets give him a chance to see how good he can coach first,I have high hopes for him doing well,but I all ways do for anybody coaching UT sports

I like the guy personally...but that is NOT the qualifications needed at this post. I have no choice but to try and get behind a coach that was forced upon us by a tightwad loser like Hamilton. I will be on his fanny til he is gone. He was given the task of BRINGING IN THE MOST QUALIFIED COACH POSSIBLE...not someone we hope might pan out, while being totally underqualified. He botched this hire BIG TIME!!!

If Dooley was able to win in his conference as Peterson, Wittingham, and Patterson have...then I'd be all for it, as he would have something tangible to lean on. As it stands, Hamilton funked us over just as hard as Kiffin did. This guy has nothing to sell recruits that they don't find in any other program out there. NOTHING. I keep looking for something positive...other than he's a swell guy. Fulmer was a swell guy.

This is a botched hire for the simple fact that Hamilton failed to hire a well-qualified prospect. This is like recruiting a 2* athlete, and raving about how nice a kid he is. Can somebody who has any sort of connection to someone in or close to a BOT member ask them about approaching Heath Shuler? The guy is a businessman and politician, and I would have to think he would be a PERFECT AD for UT for years to come.

How many AD's have earned one of those? Usually, you have to be coach.

IF..Dooley bombs this year and we go 4-8 with a loss to either vandy or kentucky does he get 2-3 more years or fired as soon as the season is over?

Just look back one year ago.

Does Dooley look signifcantly different than the Kiffin hire?

I vividly remember saying, "I sure hope Kiffin can recruit, because he will never be able to coach a down of football".

11 months later, he looked pretty good. Once he bolted, he looked like an ass.

The deal is done. Dooley is here. 11 months from now, you will have a better idea how he stacks up.

The one think I do feel more comfortable about, however, is that I feel CDD is in the game for the long haul and won't be taking the first jet out of town next January.

Well, in a few years when we are winning sec championships you are going to spend a lot of money and pride getting your tickets back.

We hired a loser last season and most cheered. We hire a good guy this time that has actually had a winning season and some so called Vol fans scream fire him. Now this poor guy is headed into a recruit signing season unfairly and has a depleted team already and these same fans want him to win the east! Bama doesn't even deserve these fans!
