First commitment - Jabari McGhee

Nice pickup. Another one coming soon with similar stats. Looks like CDT is going after the same prototype. Hopefully, we will here next week or sooner on another good pickup. CDT is working the roads looking for the best pickups left out there. A good possibility we may pickup one who formerly committed to a good team.

What exactly was his improvement? From what I saw he made like 30 - 40 % of his jump shots, which is what my post specified.

He just seemed more confident in it, though it didn't really result in significantly many more makes or attempts. He seemed to refine his form a little too.

Truthfully, he's never going to be a guy who is going to be your go-to shooter from outside of the paint, but I just saw some little improvements that give me hope that he can be at least a threat from outside 5-6 feet.

I would agree that he seemed to play with more confidence, but I would attribute that to simply getting more time, rather than an improvement in his jump shot. I simply haven't seen that. I hope he works hard on developing it this summer, because with his athleticism, and a somewhat consistent jumper, he could be hard to defend. I love his shot blocking skills btw, kid has great timing and bounce.

He actually played slightly fewer minutes per game last year than as a freshman (2012-13 when they spent half the year trying to make him a PG).

I agree on his development though. A more consistent shot outside the paint would make him a matchup nightmare.

Really? Sure seemed like he played more this year. He and DT were always the first two off the bench. Maybe it just seemed that way because we actually made the dance this year and played an additional 4 games.

Last year he would play weird sporadic minutes early in the year, before getting pretty regular minutes. The year before, as Chris said, was the early PG experiment. Then low minutes a few games, followed by getting back in the rotation. He started about half the year iirc.

Might not be the highest rated player, but at least he averaged 19/14 in prep school and had multiple high major offers, at least 3 of which were in the SEC and someone said he had a Florida State offer too.

To be in the spot we're in, that along with his athleticism and size make him a good pick up.

Welcome aboard young man.

I like the blurb I read in another thread (that will probably get merged with this one) that said he's a "bruiser in the interior and runs the floor like a deer."

We need that in a very serious way next year.

Hopefully not like a drunken deer like this one.

Him and Moore together on the floor at the same time pressing will be A LOT of fun

This is amazing. If we can get Punter and Cofer on board, we'll have a pretty talented and athletic three man class that addresses many of our needs and still leaves us room to go after the huge names next year. CDT showing he can get it done. Very pumped.

Maybe Jabari has a different take on Donnie than some of our posters.

Ben Frederickson ‏@Ben_Fred 47m
Jabari McGhee on Donnie Tyndall: " He loves to press. He loves to run. Everything I bring to the court, he loves."

no way. His career offensive efficiency and possessions per game when associated with pace and tempo disproves what happens on the court

Josh will be huge in this system, which allow him to drive the ball to the basket.
Right, and he will create havoc pressing. Hell he gets steals now w/o even pressing, imagine trying to bring the ball the length of the court against him. Was really proud of Josh in the NCAA, showed he can play with anyone.
