I honestly didn't even know this was a game until you said it. You don't pay players to lose. Expect miami to hit another level, or go down a rabbit hole. they know they are a valuable commodity for conferences rn as well. What. A. Game.

Manny Diaz is another defensive coordinator made head coach who can't get past the idea that the defense no longer controls the pace of the game.

Even with Clemson replacing their most important position at QB...and starting TB....they will beat the pups by 10 or so. Could be more once the cracks start showing....

Smart, and UGA as a program, have shown since 1981 that they CANNOT win big games with equal or lesser talent. Even with Richt at the helm...who was their best coach in my 44 years, they always underachieved and always lost the biggest games.

Thats UGA. Thats reality.

If their fans were not the most arrogant and loudmouthed clowns this side of gainesville people might feel a little sorry for them...alas

All I’m saying is there isn’t a person alive that watches college football that would get on Georgia to win. Smart has proven time and again he can’t close the big games. Never fear though the fans will have an excuse ready.

To be fair they did close out OU in OT in the CFP, and then subsequently blew it against Bama. I actually thought UGA would beat Clemson a couple of weeks ago, but they’ve caught the injury bug and will have some key guys out versus Clemson. I’m hoping it’s a good game.

Being good is one thing. Strength of schedule another. I'm not wanting out of the SEC, but give Clemson, Ohio State, Notre Dame the "typical" UT schedule and they'd end up with a few more L's. Of course no proof, but strong speculation.

that’s true, but history says they’ll drop this game. Hopefully it’s a great game for opening weekend

UNC nearly beat #1 Clemson in 2019 with a true FR QB. Lawrence is gone. I could easily see UNC beating them. The will likely beat the brakes off of VT.

I wouldn’t put any stock in Clemson sleep walking in Chapel Hill a few years ago. Sam Howell is a very good quarterback and is pretty much the only reason they are a top 10 team. They lost a ton Of their skill guys and although their Defense should be better, doesn’t change the fact they were awful last year.
They definitely should be favored to beat VPI and win the division, but going to Blacksburg for the first game on a Friday night won’t be easy.
