ESPN - Southern Cal is AP's runaway preseason No. 1 - College Football

So we are the consensus #15 in both polls. We need to be the underdogs honestly, because I think this team this year will feed off of it.

It's solely because of their late season wins over Auburn, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech.

I'm not sold the Dawgs or their QB, Matthew Stafford. They'll meet their waterloo in road games at Alabama, Tennessee, and the annual beatdown in Jacksonville.

Considering Spurrier always votes Duke no. 25 at the beginning of the season because he used to coach there, it seems to me the coach's poll is inherently biased.

Of course who's to say journalists dont do the same for their alma mater in the AP poll?

Again always back to the same thing, bring us a playoff and stop relying on polls to determine the NC.
