What’s the first concert you attended and what’s the best concert you attended?

For me ...

First was KISS in 1974.

Best is a seriously tough one to rank, (so many great ones) but I’d have to say Collective Soul with The Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra in 2005.

Watching old videos of STP live makes me sad. They had something really special. Frontmen like Scott are incredibly rare.

My first concert was Carlos Santana in Knoxville. It was great. The best concert I’ve ever attended was in Nashville about 5 years ago, and the band was Sabaton. I didn’t know who they were before going to the show, and I was actually there to see the band Nightwish. Sabaton had the energy of a coked up Van Halen, and they were absolute monsters on their instruments. They completely stole the show. Live videos of them playing festivals in Europe are something to behold.

I'd guess the Temptations 50+ years ago.
Best: Yes about 4-5 years ago. Played "Close to the Edge" and "Fragile" start to finish with a short break .

First, The Screamin Cheetah Wheelies at a free Nashville concert downtown, kind of the predecessor to the Dancing in the District days.

The best? Probably Tool in January 2020 in Nsahville. I saw them in Nashville in January 2016 but Maynard sounded way better in 2020, I think he was having throat problems the first time I saw him because it was hard to hear him at times.

My first isn't even distinctive enough to remember. "Some band".

Best was easily Pink Floyd at Bobby Dodd stadium in Atl back in early '90's.

First live concert I ever went to was Billy Joel in Knoxville ...I wanna say early 90's....I was young lad ...went with my grandma.

Best Live concert.....man that's tough...so I'm going to pick 3

1. Korn in Atlanta at some amphitheatre in 2005/2006 Family Values tour.....we were out in the field and when they played "Blind" people started making bonfires....it was great.

2. As I Lay Dying in the Knoxville at the old Valarium....being in that pit was such a rush...they were great....broke 3 toes that night.

3 Metalica in Atlanta in 2021....first and only time I've ever seen them ......they sounded amazing.

First concert was Jimmy Buffett in 92. I was 10.

Hard to say for best concert. I went to Blink 182, Green Day and Sum 41 which put on a great show. The most fun I’ve usually had though is at Buffett . I did smoke w/ part of Jack Johnson’s crew when he played World’s fair park in 04 or 05. That was a good night .

First: The Band at the Knoxville Ampitheater, probably 1993

Best: Arcade Fire at a small venue in Utah with great seats. As far as music that both my wife and I like, they're our favorite band and we caught them just a few short months before they won the grammy and really blew up. They're not going to that venue anymore and we're not getting those seats for $30 anymore. Maybe $300. I was blown away by how hard they brought it that night. If they were ever going to take a night off, it would be that show.

First: Black Sabbath with Bob Seger opening (and some other band called Target). 1976

Best: Cheap Trick several years ago at a club in Birmingham, Mojo Nixon and the Toad Liquors at a club in Lexington in the early 90s, Ben Harper at HORDE fest in 1998, Genesis in Cincinnati in 1981, Robyn Hitchcock in Cincinnati in the early 90s.

VH Knoxville '92

Not sure if I can pick a best... maybe one of:
Sepultuta/AIC/Ozzy 92-93 (?)
Tool 2016
AIC unplugged at the Ryman
Lollapalooza w Metallica/Rage/Soundgarden 94(?)

Sepultura would have been bad azz. Never got the chance to see them.

First: Sawyer Brown back in the 1990 E TN Valley fair (7 years old).
Best: Slayer x 3, Metallica, Pantera, REM, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, Morbid Angel, Opeth, Garth Brooks, Fishbone, Bad Religion, Cannibal Corpse x 6, NOFX, Weezer (surprisingly good), Cattle decapitation, three six mafia, megadeth, Obituary etc. All of those shows were great but none of them were better than Boyz II Men at TBA. End of the road bishes!

I weighed about 135# at the time. When the Civic Colliseum lights dropped and they hit the intro riff to Arise like a top-fuel dragster, getting out of the fray and to the back/side of the floor was a terrifying experience, LOL.
