Guys we can't keep blaming the coaches at some point the players have to do their job. After four coaches you can't tell me it's all coaching.
How many different players have been through in that time.
You can blame the coaches. They were all bad.

I think we should go for a change of pace and not hire someone fifty or a hundred pounds overweight. How one takes care of one's body tells something about one's mental discipline in every area of life. How many coaching staffs that look like our cheeseburger squadron have won NCs in the last thirty years? I can't think of one.

MY Feelings exactly. Of Course it isn't PC to talk about someone's obesity; don't you know?

I still think it’s too early BUT I am noticing no fire in him at all. He seems like a slug like he just woke up and is miserable when he’s being interviewed. If you want to light a fire under your team stop being in a coma on the sidelines

I understand people are jumping from the cliff but don’t care about his personality. Mr. Personality himself, Nick Saban, seems ok.

I’m upset but not putting all this on Pruitt. There’s a lot of games left. Same guy who upset Auburn and beat a good UK team. Unfortunately, lightning struck tonight. He’ll bring in the recruits and turn this thing.

Sorry, I know I’m in the minority right after this disaster.

I understand what you are saying but Saban (just like Pruitt when he was at bama) is coaching 5 stars everywhere. Pruitt is rebuilding a team. If you have no drive and fire to do so, it’ll show in your kids on the field. Just my opinion

Agree with the “slug” comment. I said to my friend earlier that we saw polar opposites today in the two head coaches as far as showing fire and having charisma.

The post game comments from Ga. State HC Sean Elliot sum up all our problems-Tennessee players don't have the mindset-I'm not totally against Coach/AD P. Fulmer stepping in tomorrow morning and unleashing his fury. if that means firing at dawn so be it-let it be done. This looked like the 4th game of a NFL preseason game (from UT's standpoint) where the only mindset was to set the final regular season roster. There needs to be accountability it starts tomorrow morning. Coach/AD Fulmer you are in charge and we believe that you will step to the plate and deliver. This program has taken a lot of punches the VOL brand is shaking and can be hurt hard if next Saturday doesn't come close to fairing any better. Tennessee fans our a proud lot and right now the faces in that stadium say we are fed up.

I hate Pruitt and everything about him. Excuse me..."Beldar". If UT or Fulmer had any pride or respect for the program they would fire Beldar immediately. Not joking. Recruits are gonna run for the hills anyway so that part doesn't matter. Send a message that this is totally unacceptable...or you are acknowledging that it IS acceptable. That's the worst coached team I've ever seen out there today. It isn't harsh or premature to fire him NOW. So what if it costs some buyout money. UT has it. Lets be real. Beldar has humiliated this program to a new low.

Honest question : who is actually against firing Pruitt? (not that we will). If word came out tomorrow he was fired, who would be mad/sad about it? What have we seen to suggest he can actually do this job? I'm genuinely curious.

I think you may under estimate just how bad this loss was. This was not middle of the day opening loss to WVU, UCLA, etc. This was essentially a blowout to a previous 2-10 sun belt team which has been in FBS for a handful of years. Losing to this team is completely inexplicable. If you think the team will just rebound and recover after just one game, then I envy your enthusiasm. This should have been an ugly win even with the team not showing up.
It's not so much optimism as much as having played sports. When you mind isnt right little things snowball. You get down and doubt yourself or those around you and tey to over compensate which cause more mistakes.

Good, experienced players leave a mistake with the play instead of allowing it to create more mistakes. The guys couldn't do that. Some will learn from it and get better. Some leaders will step up and do the little things to move the locker room on. It's a worst case scenario for the fans but it doesn't have to destroy a young talented team.

We can’t afford to fire Pruitt. But somebody had to get fired for this. It’s about principle now.

The whole buy out thing is so BS and shows the excesses in pay in sports. Try getting hired by a company and telling them “hey if I suck as an employee I want in my contract that you owe me my pay the next 3 years”. It’s totally ridiculous.

The writing is on the wall, just like with Butch Jones in his second year. Fulmer hired him so if Pruitt gets fired for failure, then so does Fulmer.
