He's not fiery enough. His demeanor is way too laid back and the team/coaches have taken on his personality. There was no sense of urgency the whole game. He's not head coaching material.

I agree 100% you gona play good football your need to be fired up and ready to play. No enthuiasm at all

Had that chance several times. Now at the point where no one competent will take the job. Hate to say it...we are stuck with Pruitt for a while and hope he can do something...
As Paul Kuharsky would say, shouting, "THAT'S NOT TRUE!" That attitude is what the UT administration has relied on for a decade now: they know that between BVS and VFLs who show up no matter how bad the product that they can continue to hire on the cheap and get away with it.

Bama was pretty low when they hired their current coach. The difference is, they weren't willing to accept it.

Somebody said Leach would have won today too. I honestly would like to know why that matters? Neither are our coach. Probably every coach we mentioned during our search would have won this one. Nooooobody wanted Les Miles, bet he wins today, but what does it matter?

This is the reason I think some like to wallow in the misery.
Leach would have won today. But the main point I think someone was trying to make is that we had every opportunity to hire Mike Leach. That would have been an elite coach that we could have hired but Phil's ego wasn't having it. He chose to go with a lower tier hire and this was the result today.

I can't blame anyone for wanting to. But this is more than a Jeremy Pruitt problem. We just get worse. The fans pour so much into it, we sign guys that look so promising, we get a staff that has won, knows what it is to be winners. It always gets worse.

UT has hired 3 coaches since firing Fulmer. None of them have had P5 head coaching experience. It’s not shocking that the guys we bring in to run the program don’t know what they are doing because they have never run a P5 program.

People will point to Kirby as a counter to what I just said. Truth is Saban was grooming Kirby to take over at Bama so he taught him everything. He didn’t do that with Pruitt

It doesn't make sense not having Jennings and Callaway on the field for almost every play. Gray looks like a young Kamara but we continue to rotate lesser talent onto the field. That's JP's and Chaney's fault.
If you can't play defense then you had better out score them. The Steelers had Brown and Bell on the field all the time when they were there.

Guys blocking the wrong player. Not realizing a blitz.Dropped footballs.Dropped passes.JJ,tough as nails.Giving his all.Palmer-drops.Defensive line on skates.Youthful excitement and forgetting your eye keys.Anything else?Yes,fan apathy when all does not go right. One game down.Do we recover?Or do we quit?I mean everyone.Crap of a start. Now,either get the hell going,or,get the hell off.GBO!

The University quit caring about the fan's opinions a long time ago. Like it or not we are stuck with the guy for at least 3-4 more years.

It looked like the coaching staff schemed a vanilla game plan that would have allowed plenty of opportunities for teaching and playing young players after the game was out of hand .... what they didn't expect as a Ga St team ready to play and got blindsided with no plan B

Every time I read an article about how the toughness and/or strength and conditioning has improved I thought about how we hear this in year two with every new coach and it has not meant crap each time. And once again everyone fell for it.
Worse conditioned UT team since I have been watching (mid 80s) conditioning takes time and we are to far behind for the season to make a difference. Better have a lot medical on staff when we go to Florida

What a stupid poll. The question in the title and the question in the poll are exact opposite. I voted no but that was to the question in the title. Needs new thread without the poll being dumbtarded

My point is besides just having something to talk about, what does it matter?

Cher has a song called "If I could turn back time", cool tune. If you could turn back time, is that what you would do with that power? Turn it back and hire Leach?

Have you not figured it out yet? We have been firing coaches for 15 years. If we fire Pruitt you may as well say goodbye to Harrison Bailey and anyone else worth a damn. Wouldn't be surprised to see many players enter the transfer portal as well. Basically the death penalty.

We may suck the next 2 years with Pruitt, but if we fire him now then the next guy(assuming we can even hire someone) will fail for 2-3 years as well and we will be calling for his head as well.

It took us a month to hire Pruitt and there were honestly no other names tied to that search who were any better.

We have ONE option. That option is to ride this out and see what Harrison Bailey can do for us.
