I didn't like Pruitt to begin with..no head coaching experience and its showing..some people are not meant to be head coaches and it's clear he is one of them.

I'm thinking more along the lines of two, just don't know two teams on our schedule worse than us.

His defense worked great at schools that had rosters full of elite talent.. We just got beat by Georgia st. We don’t have a whole lot of talent..

I think you may under estimate just how bad this loss was. This was not middle of the day opening loss to WVU, UCLA, etc. This was essentially a blowout to a previous 2-10 sun belt team which has been in FBS for a handful of years. Losing to this team is completely inexplicable. If you think the team will just rebound and recover after just one game, then I envy your enthusiasm. This should have been an ugly win even with the team not showing up.

I almost Liked this. But then thought give it one more week before I go into full meltdown mode. But I agree Mike Leach would not have lost by a mile.

Tennessee will prob win at least a few. But I doubt there are any teams on the schedule that play as bad as Tennessee is playing. And not sure any will have a worse defense.

I think that Phil Fulmer all in all would give Jeremy Pruitt one more season even if Tennessee only won 3-4 games and would fire him in December 2020 if 2020 was another losing season.

Sorry lol. I meant no. But Fulmer definitely does need to be fired for not even trying to go after a top tier coach. Willing to give Pruitt a chance for the remainder of the season. Anything less than 8 wins then he's gone. I want this team to prove to me that they are not as bad as they looked today.

I'm also tired of seeing teams like Michigan, Florida, Texas, and Georgia bounce back the way they have. We spend as much if not more than those teams and should be winning like they are.

I voted yes. I know paying another buyout will hurt financially, but Neyland Stadium with only 40,000 butts in the seats every week will hurt even worse. I would fire him tonight if it was my call, but he will likely get a few weeks to turn it around. The thing I hope Fulmer doesn't do is wait 8 games into the season to fire him (assuming the losing continues). If this trend continues, fire him after Florida trounces us and evaluate potential interim coach options.

This is what makes me so confused with him. Sometimes I think he can be an all time great coach and then we just lay down. Pruitt is very difficult to figure out. We know he was one of if not the best DC’s in the nation. So when he becomes HC how do u allow 38 points agains Ga State?!

Pruitt is not the guy, but can UT afford to fire him? He lost the team last year and he has not and imo will not get them back. First the fans will drop off, recruiting will start to tank, he will be miserable and his family will have to be escorted any where they go. It would be a merciful if he and the UTAD could negotiate him out the door with a reduced buyout instead of enduring a third year of hell for him, his family and the fans. We will not get a big name but who knows we might find an up and comer or a competent assistant who can handle the job. I am sorry Pruitt is worse than Butch and Dooley.
Oh yeah the Garatooma or whatever the pronunciation is not a SEC quality qb

Yea, just told some friends, I'll accept I was wrong about some things if that's what makes others happy, cause that seems like what is most important to a few , but after we get past the Patting themselves on the back, let's talk about what the damn problem is, cause this was bad.

Somebody said Leach would have won today too. I honestly would like to know why that matters? Neither are our coach. Probably every coach we mentioned during our search would have won this one. Nooooobody wanted Les Miles, bet he wins today, but what does it matter?

This is the reason I think some like to wallow in the misery.

Ga state had 2 4th and short plays in the first half and go for it (and convert) both times.

We had 4th and short twice in the first half also and punt it both times (the crowd booed the second time because we’d seen them convert in the same situation twice.

Pruitt doesn’t have the passion or communication skills to be a great head coach. We’ve now seen jg for 3 seasons do the same thing. Always check down (never taking ***** down the field), not have good football iq or awareness often throwing shot of the sticks on important possessions, and with an absolute terrible pocket awareness/clock

For a coach to be unable to recognize this or unwilling to make a change...his career is over at ut. So why not go ahead and make a change? Tee is a Tennessee guy and might inject some life into this team

I think we should go for a change of pace and not hire someone fifty or a hundred pounds overweight. How one takes care of one's body tells something about one's mental discipline in every area of life. How many coaching staffs that look like our cheeseburger squadron have won NCs in the last thirty years? I can't think of one.
