Fire Pruitt [merged]

My heart says give Pruitt time. My brain says he’s not the guy.

There’s no excuse for those. None.


We shouldn’t fire him as it’s week 1 and that would only further embarrass the program. But perhaps in a couple of weeks depending on how we perform.

Either way, this is not good.

You might not be able to fire him after one game (lose the next 2 and then he’s done since one is UTC)
He ought to give his paycheck back this week (he won’t). The AD may need to “coach him up” or make him so mad he quits. He got some good recruits last year but as we know he won’t be able to repeat that if he can’t put a winning product on the field (most humiliating defeat in history is not a winning product)

fulmer will ride in on a white horse to save us. That was his plan all the time in hiring a goober like our current coach. This is just , well I can’t think of a word to describe our football program. We are still paying butch jones, he can’t do much worse.

I voted no on firing because I want to see how he and the team responds next week, if they come out flat and get blown out again, you fire him on the spot, promote Martin for the rest of the year and start making phone calls.

If he trots JG back out there as QB, Pruitt should be fired after the first offensive series.

He’s not a head coach. He can’t motivate his players to give effort. I don’t care what terms & schemes he knows, if he can’t excite players to play with effort, he’s a failure. He’s a DC for a HOF coach who can motivate players.

Tee Martin. He damn sure couldn’t be any worse. Pruitt had absolutely no energy today and that showed. I was jealous watching the ya state coach work the sidelines because I saw a guy with energy and passion. And it’s infectious. 3 things that defined this game...

jg slides short of the sticks on our third possession (when we had the momentum). We end up punting and they take it right down our throats.

Jg misses a wide open Palmer for a td at the end of the first half

Ga state had 2 4th and short plays in the first half and go for it (and convert) both times.

We had 4th and short twice in the first half also and punt it both times (the crowd booed the second time because we’d seen them convert in the same situation twice.

Pruitt doesn’t have the passion or communication skills to be a great head coach. We’ve now seen jg for 3 seasons do the same thing. Always check down (never taking ***** down the field), not have good football iq or awareness often throwing shot of the sticks on important possessions, and with an absolute terrible pocket awareness/clock

For a coach to be unable to recognize this or unwilling to make a change...his career is over at ut. So why not go ahead and make a change? Tee is a Tennessee guy and might inject some life into this team
