I'M EMBARASSED, WHY ISN'T THE A.D.??? FIRE THE D.A. A.D. ALSO! PHIL SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED YEARS AGO. HOW ABOUT PUTTING FRESHMAN RIGGS IN THE FLA GAME WITH OUR BACKS TO THE GOAL LINE WITH LESS THAN A 7 PT LEAD...JUST COST US THE GAME. WHY DIDN'T THEY RUN THE BALL MORE AGAINST UCLA? I DON'T CARE WHO THE O.C. IS IT'S PHIL'S RESPONSIBILITY. IT ALL IS THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT HEAD COACH. I'VE NEVER SEEN SO MUCH TALENT WASTED.CHAVIS IS A GENIUS NEXT TO HIM. ALL I HEAR IS WHO COULD WE GET? HOW ABOUT MEYER OR SABAN OR NUTT OR my pick NORM CHOW AND/OR NEUH. OR GOD FORBID SPURRIER OR...I HONESTLY BELIEVE I COULD DO BETTER OR MAYBE SOME HIGH SCHOOL COACH. HE IS A NICE GUY MAYBE THAT IS THE PROBLEM. I DON'T THINK SABAN IS WORRIED ABOUT BEING NICE. THAT IS WHAT WE NEED. ACTUALLY WE LOST BY 76 POINTS LESS THAN I FIGURED. MORE OF THE SAME THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. MIKE HAMILTON IS AN IDIOT AND PHIL IS A FOOTBALL MORON. I THOUGHT MAJORS SUCKED, THIS IS WORSE. SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED. I FEEL A LITTLE BETTER.

sorry, couldn't hear. could you speak a little louder please?

It was apparent today that the gap between the UT and UF coaching staff was alot wider than the play on the field. With Fulmer, we still have alot farther to fall. He just can't get it down anymore. Let's get him out of here while we still have some playmakers and hope we can find a coach to turn it all around.

it is not his fault for the qb running into the fullback causing a fumble. Interceptions are not his fault either. I will say he should of took the timeout sooner and taken the 3 points. The guy has brought you guys a national championship and your school is in the hunt most of the time. Really sad to want to run a great coach off.

get real. Who's fault crompton got almost no experience last year. When were we really in "the hunt" ?,last year was sad in reality. Go vols we need help.

what about a collective snubbing of the next home game against NIU . . .maybe a half empty (or more) neyland stadium makes the ground shake in ways our gripping about this incompetence cant.

I have been a season ticket holder since 89 and I agree I am going to lose all my points to the VASF but I refuse to keep paying for embarrassment

Fulmer didn't call Chavis horrible D calls.
Fulmer didn't make Crompton look horrendous
Fulmer didn't make oline crumble like cake
Fulmer didn't make Arian fumble (again) inside the 10
Fulmer didn't make Daniel miss 3 fg's
Fulmer didn't make Rogan make the stupid play on the punt even though he got it back.
Fulmer didn't make the refs not call the clear lineman down field.
Fulmer didnt make the 1st half crap QB turn into Peyton in the 2nd half.
Fulmer didn't make Arian and all wr's but G no show.
Fulmer didn't make D line get no pressure at all in 2nd half...a blitz more than once a half is allowed John.

BUT
Fulmer does need to get rid of Chavis.

Good Lord man, the buck stops with him! He has total accountability, that's why. True, he has no control over bad calls, but the performance of the staff and the team is his responsibility, period. How much of this must the fans endure before everyone wakes up and smells the coffee!? Phil and Chavis have both, sadly, lost it. If I see us lose one more game from Chavis infamous "prevent defense" (which by the way is accurate, as it prevents the win) I'll scream! Hamilton needs to go, too. After last season he upped Phil's salary to $2.4M and a one year contract extension (which is already through 2013) for each 8-win season. 8 wins, my how expectations from the AD have dropped. You get an extension for MEDIOCRITY. Phil has negotiated well, however, if fired his buyout is a reported $5M.

$2.4M/year for 8 wins and a contract extension. You agree with this? Bubba, you'll never survive in corporate America.

Take off your glasses.

That might hurt. It's hard too see when your head is up your @#$%. Phil should have been fired for the Bama game alone last year. In retrospect he should have been fired immed. after the '98 season, we have gone downhill since then. Let's get a coach we don't have trouble getting rid of if he is embarrasing (watching my language) like this one.
GO VOLS

Tennessee's last talent laden team was the 2001 team. from the mid 90's to 2001 ut could beat most all teams with the talent they put on the field. Coaching up the players was not always needed although the defensive side of the team seemed to be better coached. Now that big time coaches are at other schools UT will hardly ever get the top recruits from neighboring states. UT has a hard time keeping the states top prospects from leaving. Lastly coach cloowsen is only doing what fulmer tells him to run. He did the same with Randy Sanders. Fulmers offensive schemes are outdated. The spread formation will take over the SEC.

I think, contrary to Phil Fulmers statement, he will resign under pressure at the end of the year. By the way fans, 2.4 million a year is an average pay for an average coach at a big time school. 3-4 million will have to be spent to get an experienced winning coach. Fulmers salary is only the 5th or 6th highest paid in the SEC.

Look what just happend to Tommy Bowden after going 3-3. Vols need to follow Clemson's lead and oust Phil.

not going to happen that way, and if it does, I lose a lot of respect for UT. I agree that UT needs to move in another direction and Fulmer needs to step down, but you don't just S#!@ can a guy that has been here for 30years and won a NC. the friggin street in front of the stadium is named after him for cryin' out loud. lol. His record is also very hard to argue. somethin close to 147-46or7. only 2 seasons with 8 or less wins....again, they need to set up a way for him to bow out gracefully. his record against top ten lately as well as the last 29-30 SEC games is black eye enough, and he knows it; not to mention our record vs. top 25 at home lately. don't throw him out in the middle of the season. just my take.. would love to hear what you guys think is a "fair" way to 'retire him'.:hi:

I agree. He's done a lot for UT. If he wants to resign during the season, then let him do so. But if the AD is going to force him to resign/fire him, wait till the end of the season. He deserves at least that much.

If Hamilton/Haslam&theboys could figure out a way to convince CPF to step down like Carr did at Michigan, in a classy way that would be great. I just don't think CF thinks it's time. I just don't see him doing it.

Greet him in his office first thing in the morning and hand him a cup of coffee as you escort him to university human resources for an exit interview and to discuss his termination settlement. Then immediately escort him off of university property.

It would be a shame if Phil Fulmer drags this out and makes the university let him go. He has constantly refused to take charge of the offensive line and help get them in gear. It appears to me the o line and Foster has started to slow down a little and the rushing game is non-existant. I'm not saying they quit on Phil but problems are about with players and coaches..no discipline...no wonder practices are closed to the public...it's embarrassing

No, but fulmer does have chavis on his staff.
No, but fulmer recruited a horrendous qb.
No, but he recruited them and hired the oc.
-im not gonna go on with this. but the point is it comes back to phil. its his staff, and his recruiting. UT should be able to get way better talent than we have now.

Fulmer is not going. He owns UT and he'll be there the next 8-10yrs. so saddle up and get use to it. We will be back!
