taking a wait and see approach. i didnt like the hire from day 1. word is this was a Haslam decision and Currie was the yes man. If true, school should take action. i truly pray that Schiatno wasnt our first choice, but if Haslam was pulling strings - it makes sense.

How difficult can this be? Get Peyton, Al, and Phil - and Condredge, and make a football decision.

Petition * Joe DiPietro: Fire John Currie * Change.org

John Currie has completely disrespected Tennessee by ignoring the voices of fans and former players alike. Let's make our opinion heard Volnation and fire Currie before he makes matters worse.

Edit: The petition is directed at President Joe DiPietro and I have included his email address. Every time a person signs, Joe DiPietro gets an email.

Was it not Joe DiPietro who hired Davenport and approved the AD hire? Why not get to the root of the problem?

You gotta fire him, right?

If this happened, say, in 2009. Kiffin unexpectedly bolts, you gotta hire somebody. Maybe then. But he has had months. He went on what essentially amounted to a vacation in the Bahamas.

It's hilarious to me how, one of the biggest props we've been hearing about the guy, he keeps everything close to his chest and nothing leaks out.

That's obviously how this happened. Because if you go on campus and ask 5 random people, this whole situation could be predicted and avoided.

Time to stop playing the smart guy. Use your best resources, the VFL’s, to do the right thing. Unfortunately, that's advice for the next guy. You can't be given the opportunity to **** up this bad twice.

Signed.

Done! And I never do this kinda thing, crap on Currie.

Same here. He!!, I think this is my 10th post since 2010. If things start going in the direction it was heading yesterday, it would start hurting the value of my academic degrees (think Penn state or Baylor). I would rather have losing records that let the reputation of the ENTIRE UNIVERSITY go up in flames.

Currie's buyout is $100,000 per month remaining on his contract, which goes through June 30, 2022. That's about 55 months.... or $5,500,000. I doubt he's going anywhere unless they can somehow fire him for cause (need the UT employee handbook).

Who the hell is writing these contracts?

we should be able to get 1000 signatures on this thing. Currie needs to go or else we are doomed for another decade.
