Fire dooley today!

Dear god. Please send us a former nfl coach with a 100-85 record and one superbowl to save us from anarchy and overthrow of the UT administration by rich fat white donors and rednecks that only know the defensive schemes they learn from EA Sports

Best post of a dismal thread.

I remember. This is worse than Battle!

No way. Battle's last year, the team reminded me of middle school gym class on soccer days...no patterns or recognizable intelligense on the field, just a mob in the middle of the field. And you cannot even compare Battle's recruits to Dooley's recruits.

we need a change give up 35 + points a games and 500 to 600 yards of D its just time to move on we need a coach that can come in here and make the most of what talent we have and also some great talent in which he can bring in we need more speed!!!! DB's look horrifyingly slow and cant tackle when the running backs get into the second level i pray that he slips or happens to trip! thats simple coaching dooley cant at least get the simple right we need some one who can.

Wait till monday... they will be the same 6 guys on here saying he deserves another year,lol[/QUOTE

Guy #1. Dooley's son
Guy #2. Dooley's other son
Guy #3. Dooley's wife (not really a guy)
Guy #4. Dooley's mom (again, not really a guy)
Guy #5. Dooley's dad
Guy #6. Dooley himself

How about all the coaches of the sec? And all the fans of other teams. I can think of plenty of people wanting us to keep dooley

I've supported DD for his tenure as head coach of the Vols. However, there is no way we should be 3-5 (0-5) in the SEC. I respect what DD did his first two yrs on the job but, now your O-line has played together for 3 yrs, QB is a 3 yr starter, and WR's are arguably the best in the nation. I understand the problem is not the offense. Cool. Defensively, we stink. We can not stop anyone. If your loyal to Sal and he's your guy then you sink with Sal because he is costing you your job after this yr. We gave up 44 to UGA, 37 to FLA, 41 to MS.ST, 38 USC, 41 ALA that is pitiful. Those are PAC-12 & Big 12 scores not SEC which proves you can not win in this league without a defense. Look at LSU & ALA top 5 teams yr in and out neither ever has an explosive offense but they know who to recruit defensively and they win National Championships. DD you cost yourself.

The team played a good game against a good team. Don't like the mistakes made and definitely hate putting the game in the L column, but I really don't see joining a pitch fork mob over this one. It's college football.

So many people said Sal was a great hire, but the change to 3-4 might take a full year to work. Now all those folks do is trash Sal and Dooley. Other than too many busts on D, this team is looking like one to cheer for. They showed a lot of skill and guts... never quit. I'm starting to really like these guys.

Dooley knew that this year would be his measuring stick. If he chose to go and get a first time DC to install a brand new defense that we didn't have the personnel to execute with...shame on him. I like the guy, but good guys get fired everyday when they can't perform up to expectations. Nothing personal. This should be a business decision.

It is worse than that....UGA scored 51.

Are you two really that stupid? UT almost knocked off a #13 team on the road. The outcome was very disappointing but nothing happened today to justify immediate termination.

Not today ...but over the coarse of 3 seasons ? Yes , yes , and more yes. Not to mention that he is at oddss with almost everyone in the AD , most players , and many boosters.

Expect a developement soon that starts with... Dooley gone.

For all of you screaming about this staff & what a joke of a hire Sunseri was, let's look at the last 2 teams to switch to the 3-4 & their record prior to UT. Alabama went 7-6 their first year under Saban after switching to a 3-4. UGA went 6-7 in Grantham's first year as DC. Both defenses improved tremendously from year 1 to year 2. And I would say now they are both doing pretty dang well. This defense takes time to learn. Dooley has improved the team & Sunseri will have this defense tuned up given time. Let's face reality people, everyone knew or should have known coming off of Kiffin's departure that this was a 4 to 5 year rebuilding process. It takes time to rebuild the depth & get those new players the needed time in the program (i.e. strength & conditioning, adjusting the speed of the game, learning the playbook, adjusting to college life, etc.) to be able to compete in this league. This team is moving in the right direction.

GBO!

Be fired at halftime?

Firing Dooley today simply is not soon enough! I like the guy, but his coaching performance simply is not cutting it.

"We lost again today... " was old news yesterday! But I still yell, "GO VOLS," because my blood type is Big Orange +

This is Tennessee we don't go 7-5! Unacceptable!! They're are plenty of first or second year coaches who have tuned their programs around in to top twenty programs. There is no discipline I'm sick of the excuses of him inherited a terrible program. I don't want to accept going 7-5 every year .:banghead2:

with the D we have , will be lucky to close at 7-5...6-6 seems more likely

How many yards and points did they average giving up? Come back with the stats please.
