Saw this posted on VQ.

Below is the list of players that participated yesterday that was on campus two years ago, and actually participated in even one game.

In no way should a punter and a DS (Guess) count in this stat, so I won't count them. I could make the argument that Neal and Hunter led the team in receptions and receiving yards to discount Moore and Jones, but I think this is enough.

Why can't you wrap your minds around it people? Take away the punter and the DS you have 13 players. Of the 13, a total of 9 started yesterday. Not even half of our starters were here and playing two years ago.

You have the nerve to question this team or this staff? One week after almost having won at Baton Rouge in a game where we were totally outmanned. We shut down the nation’s most potent offense (Oregon) for a half of football.

The level of stupidity on this board is paramount. How can you people even THINK of questioning this staff or players? DUMB! Let it sink in your head people. Since the number of freshmen participants has no weight on your brain, try 13 players of the 51 participants yesterday having played even a down of football two years ago.

I will say it again. DUMB!

Anthony Anderson- --- - Kevin Cooper

Chad Cunningham- - --- Art Evans

Nick Guess- --- - Austin Johnson

Gerald Jones --- - Danarius Moore

Nick Reveiz - --- Jarrod Shaw

Luke Stocker - --- Victor Thomas

Chris Walker - --- Gerald Williams

I am all about giving this staff the benefit of the doubt. But when you screw up something as simple as getting 11 guys on the field 3 weeks in a row it makes it hard. Getting basic things wrong is what concerns me.

Well, yesterday I seem to remember both Meyer and Saban coached teams having multiple substitution penalties :whistling:

Florida has more. But thanks for trying. They aren't going to win a NC this year, but my goodness they don't look as retarded as we do. They will probably still win the East.

We only have substitution penalties because the staff is trying to get as many guys playing time and experience as possible...:)

College football (and all sports for that matter) is purely entertainment. And yes, I played sports (baseball, basketball, and football) all the way through high school. A lot of folks get way too wrapped up in sports that they don't (or have ever) play in. You quote an 18-year old's vertical leap, rushing yards and 40-time. For crying out loud man, get a life. Watch and root for the Vols (I do) every chance that you can however, it's purely entertainment. No way a game played primarily by teenagers is going to ruin my day. I guess I do have one guilty pleasure...reading some of the posts on this board. ENTERTAINMENT AT IT'S HIGHEST....

Coaching stability. I would be willing to bet they have better quality and more upper class men as well.

3 weeks in a row?

Well, I know Florida had some last week too, I think bama had at least one, can't remember further than that though, I'm just saying that even the "best" coaches make mistakes. Having a young team just compounds their magnatude.

You obviously didn't watch them earlier this season. 12 yards in the first half against Miami of Ohio, tell me they didn't look terrible with all their 5 stars.

OP is right. We have only a handful of SEC caliber upperclasmen this season. We've done as good as could be expected.

Most rational posters predicted 2-4 at this point in the season. We are what we are and it isn't Dooleys fault.

I would lean more to the inexperience of the players than a coaching issue even with that. All it takes is one kid, a different one 3 games in a row, to get confused and you have a participation issue. it really is as simple as that.

I have to totally agree ... the Vols are playing pretty much half college players and the other half highschool players ... but in a year or two ... these players will have so much playing time under their belt if they don't at least make it to the SEC Championship all bets are off ... i'm very impressed they have played as well as they have undermanned and i hate to say out talented but not up to full potential yet.

3 different systems in three years can't be too confusing can it? Might as well make it 4 in 4 years and stay consistent.

Checking the gators website they have listed on the depth chart 2 redshirt sophmores 1 sophmore and 1 redshirt freshmen as starters, thats 18 juniors or seniors starting who were there for 23 wins and a national title the last two years, hardly seems like our situation

Coach Dooley did not inherit a cess pool- he got the whole sewage treatment plant. As hard as it is WE THE VOL NATION must be patient. I really think we have done OK considering our level of talent and experience.

I'm not the one getting paid $2 million to coach a football team and ensure we have 11 guys on the field at all times. I can make any judgement I want, and so can any other fan.
