LOL. Nope. My daughter has a mind of her own. AND... I just thought it was a way to worm my way into your good graces. I try to post a pic of my Tennessee blanket that I got for Xmas.
On a side note, one piece of statistical advice that I got (which my wife hated)... is 90+% of kids do not return home after 18 ... except for short visits and on holidays.
Bill's advice to parents was to make as many memories with your kids as possible.
Divide their life into 3 6 year periods: 0-6, 6-12 and 12-18
When they are 6 you have made 1/3 of the memories you are going to make with them. In other words, you are 1/3 done in creating their family memory repository.
At 12, you are 2/3 done. So, if you look up and find that the number of memorable events you have spent with them is lacking...get busy and make some memories - they will have to last a lifetime!!!
In your case, you still have time to create a game plan.
We were lucky enough to hear the advice early and we had numerous Daddy-Daughter events (and there were also lots of Momma-Daughter things, too).
I took a page out of Tolkien's life and told my daughter Bilbo Baggins stories, rarely missed any of her VB games, helped her record videos for auditions,. rehearsed scripts and reluctantly, appeared in shows with her.
My wife toured Europe with her for senior graduation, went to Syros, Greece when she was performing there, has taken her to theatrical productions in 6 states, cooked with her and toured Biltmore house more times than I can count.
You will find a ton of ideas out there when you start looking ... here is a list from one of my favorite sites:

Best wishes! You are gonna love making the memories... they are just as much for you as they are for her!!!
