Nope..I am saying that if it doesn't happen quickly at a big time program it ain't GONNA happen..history very clearly shows that. If you disagree, give me some examples..otherwise, as I said previously, you are expecting something to happen that rarely happens..coach at big time school doesn't have it rolling by year 4 and yet is successful at said school.

Tennessee, or any program of our stature, deserves better and should keep trying until they get it right.

LSU-archer, hallman, dinardo, BAM..SABAN! They didn't settle for mediocrity.

oklahoma-gibbs, schnellenberger, blake..BAM...STOOPS!

Texas-mcwilliams akers mackovic..BAM...BROWN!

you either accept underachievement or you keep trying til you get it right.

He is living off it like Fulmer did his --- only 3 NC winning coaches are actually still with the teams they won it with, since that 2000 Oklahoma NC (Fisher, Saban and Meyer)

Your expectations are unrealistic. You will be a disappointed fan for many years to come if you think winning a NC in year 2 of a coaching change is the *norm*.

And don't forget it took Bama 10 years to replace Stallings: Mike Dubose, Dennis Franchione, Mike Price, Mike Shula..........so, on that note and after 2017, we will have a NEW coach...........

Exactly. It's not easy to do and Saban and Meyer are once in a lifetime hires. I'm not saying Butch is the guy, but clamoring we should win a NC in 4 yrs or less or else fire someone is absurd.

Well I didn't originate the post so I can't tell you.

It's not a cheap shot. I don't feel I'm getting a good return for the investment.

You seem to have forgotten the part where the 4 yrs BEFORE that national title at texas he was 43-6. If your best argument is a very poor one that I gave you in the first place, the phrase, "what else you got?" might be misplaced.

Mine is not really an opinion. You are constantly trolling the board, taking shots at UT, using cutesy nicknames for the coach, saying you hope they lose more, etc. One would think you might respect your huge investment just a bit more

strawman arguments are absurd.

What I have said, and facts are stubborn things, is that history clearly shows that if you are going to succeed at a national power it won't take 4-5 years to get your program to the elite level with very rare exceptions.

So the choice is to either accept mediocrity and underachievement or move on. The odds are the coach that hasn't gotten it done by year 4 won't ever get it done. That is simply a fact.

Oh look it's Mr. "Holier than Thou" as usual. Sometimes I think ReaderVol has more than one account. I know I don't have a dog in this fight, but I think you would be pretty hard pressed to find Yankee being a troll or taking shots at our coaches. I think there's a real issue with anyone who isn't more than a little dissatisfied with the underperformance this year or the lack of development of many of our players.

Where have I ever said I hope they lose more? Lyle is his name, other than that show me where I've called him something else?

I don't mind Butch as a person (and actually didn't mind the hire, you can look that up too), I just think he's not a good HC.

Keep taking shots at me though (with your cute emojis, "huge investment"),speaks more about you than me. :hi:
