IMHO, NFL coaching focuses on managing talent, while college coaching requires development. NFL guys already know what they have to do to be successful at a very high level, college guys have to learn. So many examples out there of coaches that could do one but not the other.Someone could have once been the greatest coach in history and still not be successful later in his career. Both are possible, and I think that's the case with Bill. Overestimation of his skills and ego probably pushed him into believing this could work. Or his skills could have diminished, not been very applicable to the college game/athlete/rules. Or some combination of both.
Either way, it's a lesson that other schools should consider in the future. Having the name and success somewhere else doesn't guarantee it can be replicated. It's usually not just the coach or a player that won those championships. It's a combination of many things going right at the same time. Making it happen again is not impossible, but very, very difficult.
See Jimmy Johnson, Mike Ditka, Jimbo Fisher, as other examples.
it also shows the arrogance of the UNC crowd. they have always had this better than thou attitude and think their shipe don’t stink.Thats my thoughts as well. Sometimes, these things have a way of backfiring if you hire someone as old with absolutely no experience coaching college as the previous coach. That shows a serious lack of intelligence about wanting to make your program better with the higher ups. Go with the much younger, proven coaches in the college instead of a gimmick older NFL legend.
I think he had some kind of break mentally after he left New England. I don't mean that sarcastically; I mean some kind of clinical, diagnoseable mental issue. It seems to have a lot in common with mid-life crisis behavior, except it's happening later to him.
Dude. Seriously. Date an age-appropriate woman. When you're sitting at an adult cheerleading competition, looking PO'd at life in a nasty-@$$ hoodie, you have to realize you have made some bad choices.
I don't get it...sitting there, he has to be thinking.....we have absolutely nothing in common. She annoys the crap out of me. She is dating me for my money and nothing else. Every time she sees me naked, she is thinking....i wonder how many more times I have to do this before he marries me and how many times after that before this fat slob has a heart attack and I get the money.

With his girlfriend, I wonder if it is more about attention than money. There are a lot of other older wealthy men she could date if that was her sole or primary objective.I don't get it...sitting there, he has to be thinking.....we have absolutely nothing in common. True...no such thing as bad publicity to some people. With his girlfriend, I wonder if it is more about attention than money. There are a lot of other older wealthy men she could date if that was her sole or primary objective.
I think Belichick being famous is a big part of it for her because it brings her attention. The adult cheerleading thing is weird and seems like something a person who has trouble growing up would be into; BB being a college coach now allows her to relive her college days, have a bunch of eyes on her, etc.
