Finebaum: "Pruitt killed it"

The talking heads after the presser had nothing but bad to say about our beloved VOLS..
According to them we will not win many games this year..They say we are terrible...

Glad to know all this without ever taking a snap...It is like they all hate Pruitt for some reason..

Truth is we gonna be good and impress a lot of people and win more games than expected...This ship is gonna sail and not sink....

Still can't figure out why anyone would care about anything Finebaum has to say, good or bad.

Because whether you or anyone else wants to admit it, nobody in the media has more inside knowledge of what is happening in the SEC than Finebaum.

I’ve never witnessed Finebaum defend UT like he has recently. He really must think this was an outstanding hire by Fulmer, as do I. I think other people that are affiliated with other universities know it as well. NOBODY that’s against UT wanted the Fulmer hire for AD because they know what’s coming.

Well said.

With fulmer as the AD I KNOW his intentions are get the program back to winning regardless the cost. I think few people before him were just holding down a job.

"We have a good one finally"

We thought that Kiffin was a good one. He brought his dad who invented the Tampa 2 defense. He brought Oregon to coach defensive line. Kiffin Jr. Kiffin Sr. & Oregon all had NFL experience. We were excited about that staff also. Then we ended up losing to Ole Miss because a small back got 300 yards against us. then we get blown out against Va. Tech in the bowl game.

We thought that Dooley was good because Saban said he would turn our program around. His dad was a good coach at UGA. he has coaching in his genes. He coached with Saban at LSU when LSU won the National Championship. He was a head coach at La. Tech.

We thought bUTch was a good hire. He had experience at Central Michigan & Cincinnati. He coached J.J. Watt, Antonio Brown and he coached the K.C. Chiefs first round pick in the draft. Hell, other colleges are trying to hire him. Colleges such as Colorado, etc. he also said the right thing in press conferences. He was a good hire.

I see Pruitt improving our program but we have to catch all of the other programs in the SEC. So, we have to catch them and then pass them, with someone who has never been a head coach.

What was thought about Kiffin, Dooley, and Butch doesn't matter. Pruitt doesn't have anything to do with what they did.

Thought Pruitt did fine, however, seemed to me like he answered some of those questions like a politician. Answering the question without actually giving an answer. I know Pruitt is about coaching first and foremost and providing explanations to media isn't his priority. And it's still a lot better than just saying some cringeworthy cliche. But I was actually interested in some of those questions. Anything to get through the next 45 days.

Thank you, Freak.... I hope there's as much enthusiasm on the field and Pruitt can kill it there too!!

A good hire into almost any failing football program/not meeting standards at a coordinator or even at a business that isn't being as profitable as it should be isn't always a good fit. Because that hire WILL ruffle feathers of the ones that are complacent. Obviously that is what happened at Georgia, Richt got fired shortly after because of said complacency, but Georgia fans seem to be so salty towards Pruitt.? We saw Pruitt help a Georgia bulldog defense in 1 year and that was even with a head coach that was apparently at odds with him. He has a hell of a pedigree and a ton of great defenses under his belt. Seems like a real football coach that is ready to help and wants Our program to win and be proud again.. Let's do it, GO VOLS!!

Finebaum is coach friendly until it's plainly obvious that change is coming. He needs access to head coaches to do his job.

He wasn't friendly to Butch really at all, especially before last season.

BTW, if Vol fans want objective analysis from a non-Tennessee person, listen to Greg McElroy.

If Jeremy Pruitt’s Vols win in 2018, there will be lots of crow with leftovers for most ESPN analysts. However, Finebaum just set himself up for an “I told you so.” 😉
