Finebaum picks Tennessee over Oklahoma

It sounds like I should know the answer to this question but I'll ask anyway, what is his issue with Fulmer? Is it something personal or stemming from the whole Memphis incident?

YouTube has numerous video clips of Finebaum picking Bama in the '14 Sugar Bowl. I agree that UT will (and should be) favored, but let's go ahead and play the game, anyway. Just to see what happens...

Yeah, he seemed very blunt and definite about it. What's up with all the love from Finebaum? Trying to correct his wrongs and past hate on his alma mater it seems.

Watch how fast he turns on us if we do not come out as advertised! It will be ugly! I honestly think he will enjoy that very much if that does indeed happen.

I just don't trust all this love he has been throwing our way, but that's just me.

Yes, we will beat Oklahoma. We will beat Florida too and when we do, these young guys are going to have some mojo going on. Don't be surprised if UT doesn't pull the upset at Bama this year. If you remember it was a 10 point game in the third qtr last year after Dobbs brought us back from a horrible start. Look at world, the VOLS are coming!!!!! ORANGE SWARM.

You folks kill me. Maybe Finebaum (as well as everybody else in the media) didn't say anything good about us over the last eight years because, well let's be blunt, THERE WASN'T ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY.

FACE IT. WE HAVE SUCKED.

Now that they are seeing it come to an end, they are reporting on our potential. I look forward to the day when they are reporting on our actual, consistent success again.

I really didn't like how he tweeted laughter and happiness when Florida won last year. He's always been an idiot, but he's not stupid (in regards to how good teams are).

He is an alumnus. You can't crap on your school when they are down and then jump on the bandwagon when they come back up. Gotta back your school no matter what

PF has ZERO personality...he is sooooo boring and acts like someone just ran over his puppy. I do NOT understand how that man got a TV gig and radio show. Give me someone with a personality like Jon Gruden. That's just my 2 cents worth.....not that it matters.

Goooooo Vols!

Maybe he was never on or off ANY bandwagon. Maybe he just actually thinks Tennessee is good again and therefore worthy of attention.

I don't put a lot of stock in what he says. He is more about stirring up stuff for ratings now. Plus he is by far not a Bob Stoops fan

I do hope he is right though

It's been hashed out a bunch. During the Fulmer years and a few years after, just about EVERY bama fan had nothing but hate and vitriol for Fulmer. They blame him for their probation.

I turn it on them - Hypothetically, lets say UT (Fulmer) had a rogue booster buying just about every good recruit coming out of Birmingham. Lets say Saban decided to do something about it and brought it to daylight and UT got probation on account of it. Would our fanbase hate Saban? I think so.

Also, as I said earlier, they didn't need a reason to hate Fulmer, he beat them 9 years in a row. Didn't take much to have the hatred leach out of the mud.

Oklahoma won't be able to punish us with the run this year if K Mac and Tuttle are as good in live action as they look so far. We'll have size and depth to clog the middle and keep fresh bodies there. They're in the first year of switching back to the air raid, which, if you want to try and throw on our secondary, by my guest. If we stop their run and force them to beat us through the air, our deep, solid secondary and vicious pass rush will wreck Baker Mayfield (or whoever their QB is) and give him no time to throw and no open receivers.

Finebaum is a UT Alum. He really hated Fulmer for years, He likes Butch and thinks UT is on the right track with him.

When he was here he worked for the Daily Beacon. No one like him then either.

Have watched Finebaum since last August. He is fair in his comments and has not dissed Tennessee since Butch arrived. Before that, he was pretty disgusted with the state of UT football.
