Finebaum just said

I thought it was in reference to the program as it currently stands, not the fan base. My bad.

Also not sure where you got I believe everybody's been behind CDD for the last two years.

Your first sentence clears up the second. I took it as a general statement by Finebaum which would include the fanbase.:hi:

That UT is currently the most "divided" program in the nation, followed by Texas Tech.

He thinks Dooley was the worst hire in UT history and says the same for TT hiring Tuberville.

everyone is allowed to have their opinions....you have to admit ole Double D is not the best hire in UT history. Jury is sadly still out on him, verdict coming this Fall.

I said he was a bad HIRE, not a bad coach. Those are different arguments.

If Pete Carroll had not left USC, Kiffin would be here and we would be preseason Top 10 right now. Instead we are about to fire CDD after this season. And please no NCAA sanctions nonsense, it came to nothing for UT or Kiffin, and it was secondary stuff anyway. Would prefer Kiffin over Dooley anyday....

When you talk about a hire you have to look at it in its entirety. Kiffin left UT worse than he found it. As bad as things have been on the field under Dooley at least the next guy will have a full roster and no NCAA hearings to go to. The kids will understand UT tradition, not USC tradition. There will be another group of players that have actually recited Neylands 7 Maxims. And if it does come down to CDD leaving at the end of this season (or next) I seriously doubt he, or any of his staff, is going to be calling his recruits on his way out the door and trying to talk them out of coming to UT.

Kiffin may be able to coach his a$$ off (I personally don't think so), but he basically came just a hair of burning the Volunteer football program to the ground in his short time here.

The jury would still be out on virtually anyone who took this job. Had a high profile, successful coach taken it, it is high likely he couldn't have done much better. MAYBE one more win or two.

Dooley may be. But Finebaum is full of shat on the rest of his "remark".

Sounds about right to me......Dooley is the worst hire in UT history. I think we will be a united fanbase pretty quick if we lose a couple games early. We will all be on the Fire Dooley bandwagon singing campfire songs!

bring it, I'll eat all the crow you can shovel, but Dooley was a horrible hire
Folks on here are saying 8 wins is successful, that's laughable
how many 8 win teams are going to make it to Atlanta and into a BCS game

That's how far we've fallen. Even Cubs fans think they'll win before the season starts. Not us. We're happy to beat up Vandy, KY, MTSU, Troy, etc....

I figured out what team Fk'n is. It is the VN team that wants CDD to lose games next year. VolBeef88 is the HC.....Northknoxvol is the WB.
