Finebaum: About Currie

You're talking about the men's coach. This story has become completely overblown. Frank Martin was completely hated by his players at KSU and got himself run out of town. The idea that he was somehow a diamond in the rough "championship coach" is revisionist history.

Agree...not that Martin isn't to be credited for the SC season, but will be interesting to see how they do next year w/ Sindarius graduating. SEC POY leaves a big void.

Also, on Currie, I have to "assume" that there's a reason he was hired over Blackburn and Fulmer (though I was for one of them to be hired), and that all the KState stuff was vetted. All things considered, right decision or not, you'd think a lot of fairly intelligent folks picked him for a reason...after a LONG vetting period. Let's hope the committee was right.

and now we flip this pancake into a bashing CBJ thread! Anyway some of you can go for the trifecta and mind meld Dooley into this?

Chill out dude, it was a joke. I'm still a Butch supporter. I hope Butch is more thick skinned and less sensitive than some of you VN posters.

I know most of you don't care about Finebaum but from time to time if he's on I'll listen.

Last night he answered a caller commenting about the USCe womens BB coach, Martin. He offered that "Currie fired him". Then corrected himself and said "from the horses mouth, Currie told Martin to find another job so I'll take that as being fired".

Question I have is: Is Currie that inept to have fired a championship coach? If so, are we in for a really bad run? What was the positive for bringing him here and exactly who brought him here?

Comment: I don't know if he was behind the fireing of Fulmer but if he was, I do agree with him.

(Correct me if I'm wrong on the BB coach being named Martin)
What in the Hell has that lunatic won?

It's kinda funny the way you call the events between Martin and Currie "completely overblown" then follow with the story of Martin being "completely hated" by, I'm guessing, all his players?

Do tell us more. I want to to know the real history. What were they having for dinner while you were watching all of this happen?

Go use Google and figure it out. What I posted isn't exactly "breaking news". Martin has been a volatile guy at times and treated players like crap. It had a lot to do with why he left KSU and he later got suspended for it at SC.

I'm not even really defending the situation other than to point out that it's mostly a weak attempt to delegitimize the Currie hire.

I've Googled several times.
What I found was several articles supporting BOTH sides.

That's why I always say that I hope the negative stories/reports/rumors aren't true.
Your version of 1 side being completely accurate and the other reports being completely false isn't based in any kind of fact. It's your hopes or want to believe. You don't know any more than I about which side is accurate.

Nothing against you just that seeing posts like yours and the number of people willing to give those posts a virtual hell yeah, amazes me.
I've yet to see one post here of anyone at KS when this went down yet, tons of posts yelling us how it happened. It's bs, we don't know.

There is a great backstory to this regarding a former SC coach and a meeting that took place the day after this suspension was announced. Hilarious.

It will happen. You know there is a twitchy finger out there waiting to pounce.
