Finding a PS5 (advice, tricks, tips, etc.)

Anyone want to share any tips/tricks on getting a PS5 in the next couple weeks for the holiday season? I'm following the restock accounts on Twitter with push-notifications, been reading different Reddit posts, etc. Just wanted to see if you all who had found one had any advice on how to get my hands on one. Appreciate it, and Go Vols!

From him I was able to get my PS5 and Xbox SX. The PS5 he listed when PS Direct was releasing some and I got one, that was back in Feburary and he tweeted out Target had some XSX back in April and I was able to get one.

I'd keep an eye on pawn shops.

Awesome, thanks for the input. I've always been an Xbox player, but it seems like the majority of my friends plan on getting the PS5.

It's certainly been the more reliable of the two machines, at least in my house anyway. I've factory reset my PS5 multiple times and "rebuilt the database" a few dozen times. The XSX has worked like a charm since day one.

Nah, two of the XBSX were for friends and the third I ended up selling after using for a couple of months when I bought a PC. Was just saying he would the the notification follow if I was looking for any console.

Going great, really enjoying it. Feel I have the perfect balance of PS5 and PC. Has some thermal issues with my GPU and this H1 case, so I have been looking to pull the trigger on a mid sized with better thermals. Put a couple of fans on the back of the H1 case. Pretty trailer, but it works well pulling all that heat out and dropped my heavy load temps to 70-71

The H1 is pretty pricey, but it's a good small form factor case. If you've got room for a 5000d I can't recommend it enough.

Yeah, I got it in a prebuild, but if you just buy the case they come with the AIO and PS. Waiting for BF to see if I can find a deal on a good case.....I have a list :) 5000D is on that list.

This is another awesome case:

Phanteks Innovative Computer Hardware Design

The p600s is also really good (it’s the next step up). These cases have really good airflow (if you rely on it and not water cooling) with good looks and great building mechanics inside the case.

I’ve been trying to get an XSX, but now practically every online outlet you have to have some type of an account with them. Amazon requires Prime, Walmart you need an account, BestBuy is atrocious for making you buy some Tech deal that is $200, and NewEgg is only bundles. At least I have a pretty good PC. I hope this climate crashes hard and those trying to sell these consoles and PC parts for 2-3x MSRP lose money.

All things considered, you got it for a pretty good deal. The chip shortages will continue through 2022 and the aftermarket prices, especially through the holidays, will only continue to go up.

Ended up grabbing a 4000D airflow on sale. Went ahead and bought a new power supply, AIO, and fans. Decided to keep everything intact with exception to MOBO, CPU, and GPU and just gonna sell the H1 case with everything with it. Gets here tomorrow so I will have to do the swap out.
