Finals thread.

Maybe watching it again would help YOU...it was a charge, he had his position and was clearly in the path of Durant, had Durant not had 5 fould already it would have been a charge bottom line but Durant got lucky, every one of the analysts on TV said it was a charge after the game and during the game, I guess they need to watch it again in slow motion? A missed call never warrants another missed call, ever heard of a make up call? Yeah you get that all the time in sports. Nobody likes that if it goes against your team. Give me a break dude, you call my logic stupid because it doesn't follow your's. I'm sorry I don't follow ignorance.

Are you condoning make up calls? Doesn't take away from the outrageous officiating. OKC is not my team and I have no dog in this race. I also heard the opposite from the commentators after watching the replay. Wtf were you watching? He was moving sideways AFTER KD was in the air. Stop with your nonsense. It's a block and was rightly called.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to have your feet set to draw a charge. I think that's a myth, like the infamous "over the back."

I'm not saying that. You certainly can still be moving and draw a charge. If an offensive player has already taken off towards the basket and up in the air, a defensive player can't slide in and draw a charge.

Charges vs blocks aren't worth arguing over, in most cases. It happens so fast, and the way it's called seems to be arbitrarily different from official to official.

I also feel like that goaltending call on Ibaka after Durant blocked the shot hurt them, too. It made it a 10 point game, OKC scored to pull it to 8, and then Battier hit a 3 to put them up 13. If that call wasn't made, it's a 6 point game.

I'm not saying the refs blew the game for OKC; OKC didn't show up until the 2nd quarter and that's why they got beat.

That's fine if the call was wrong. But it wasn't.

Doesn't matter either way. People who blame the refs are among the most ignorant group of sports fans alive.

Miami shot a better FG%, 3PFG%, FT%, out rebounded, scored more points in the paint and flat out out hustled them.

Having a 17 point deficit in the first quarter had nothing to do with the refs and turned out to be the difference in the game.

At the end of the day Durant had a virtually uncontested 8 foot shot that he flat out missed, most of the contact from that play happened because he tried to create separation by putting his knee up. Karl Malone style.

I watched the same telecast you watched and they looked at it about 5 times if I remember correctly, Van Gundy even said it was a charge! The guys that done the post game said the same thing. I never said I was condoning make up calls but I said it happens in every sport. Stop spewing your nonsense, if you dont condone one when it goes your way then I have some beach property in Knoxville I would like to sell you. As far as outrageous officiating goes, the officiating in the finals thus far has been OK. Prior to this has been garbage, I will give you that. If that's how you feel about that, then the no call at the end of the game on Durant was rightly called. That's your logic, right?

It wasn't rightly called as Lebrons arm was holding Durants. It wasn't a charge and to imply it was is ridiculous as Battier was moving into Durants path after he was in the air. Van Gundy asked for a no call. Not a charge. I also didn't watch post game cause I don't care what the lakers would have done (magic) and who Broussard claims texted him during pregame.

Following the logic you used, it was called right. That same kind of blocck/charge call has been made all year. Bottom line, it dont matter now the game is over no matter what anybody says the referees did not decide the game, Miami won and has the momentum on their side going back to South beach.

The tears of the LeBron haters would taste so sweet.

They still have an uphill battle ahead them though.

Not really. They are firmly in the drivers seat at this point. Thanks to the stupid 2-3-2 format of the finals, there's a VERY good chance the Thunder find themselves in a position of having to win 2 straight at home in order to win the series. The odds that the Thunder win twice in Miami are fairly low.

A charge/block is a boom boom play. Lebrons foul was not and a blantant no call. Stop trying to legitimize a bad call. It's retarded. It's clear as day at this time yet you are supporting the wrong calls. OKC is not my team so I really don't care who actually wins. But as a fan of basketball I really hate to see BS and terrible calls. I'm on mobile so this is why I ask, by any chance are you a heat fan?

No doubt having home court helps but I worry about them being able to win 3 of 5 against OKC if the Thunder start to show up in the 1st, which they haven't yet in this series, or if Battier cools off. He's shot 70% (69% from 3) in the first 2 games. I think he's been the difference in a game 1 blowout and and a game 2 loss.

I'm not trying to legitimize a bad call, all I'm saying is it worked out both ways, I agree a charge/block is a boom boom call, but you can argue with me until you are blue in the face but fact is if Durant didnt already have 5 fouls that would have been a charge, they bailed him out on that one because they've called that a charge the entire playoffs. You call my opinion retarded because it doesn't agree with your's, that's fine with me. I like the Heat because of Lebron, so i would not call myself a Heat fan. I suppose i support the wrong calls because you think I'm a Heat fan? Lol I don't support the wrong calls, but for someone who doesn't care who wins you sure have an interest in pointing out the right and wrong calls, maybe you should suit up and fly down to South Beach and ref the game the right way so we all know the game is called right.

Oh god. A Lebron fan. That's even worse. No wonder you don't think his foul should have been called. Lol. This isn't about opinions. A foul is a foul and a block is a block. With our benefit of replay it isn't up for opinion. It is what it is. The retarded thing is you are saying the no call is a make up because they would have usually called the BLOCK a charge when it isn't a charge.

You have to be established in the path before the offensive player takes off. Moving sideways is a great indicator of not being in the path before the offensive player is in the air.
Yeah I agree it's a good indicator, but not required.

Just like you're still allowed to rebound if you don't have position. i.e. UGA buzzer beater last year by Brian Williams.

Lol, if you honestly don't believe make up calls exist then you're a fool. It's obvious there is no debating with you and having a sensible discussion because you resort to name calling. Where in any of my posts did I say it shouldn't be called? Using your logic, it shouldn't have been. I've stated with no doubt that Lebron fouled. Keep on hating man, you just prove your ignorance.

Don't know about you guys but I'm ready for game 3 tonight. Feels like it's been a week since the last game.

Hate the two days off, plus I'll miss the first half (dammit it all).

Heat should win. I like 103-95.
