Finals thread.

How many of those teams had guys in their absolute prime just get together and say "lets create a superteam overnight"? None. They all took time to get to the point they were at a championship level. The Lakers in the early 80's were the closest to being an overnight success. Between the NBA not caring about this type of collusion, and the "I gotta have it now!!" mentality that has become pervasive in society, do you not expect other superstars are going to want to follow suit, because there sure as hell isn't another team in the NBA who can compete with Miami as they are currently constituted.

Again. There are only a handful of superstars in the NBA.

Shouts out to Pat Riley. It wasn't a forgone conclusion that Lebron and CB would come there. Never was guaranteed to work out either.

Haters gtfo...

They are fun to watch. One of my top 6 or 7 to watch if there aren't any other pressing issues.

I really do wish I had a 'home' team in the NBA. It's one the hardest sports to follow for me. But OKC and Bucks are the top 2 because of the players. And I'll never forget the good ole days the 6ers gave me. Sigh...

Thunder do have a bright future ahead of them, don't know about owning the league but I enjoy watching them play.

Of course, the Heat are a reflection of our society's problems. Are you retarded? Championships teams of the past have been packed with superstars, if not hall-of-famers. So Lebron realized that Cleveland couldn't make that happen for him, so he did it for himself. How shameful.

Oh snap, David stern called Bill Russell the greatest champion of them all

Let's all compare and argue about a bunch of past and present players guys!

How DARE LeBron spend busting his ass for a ****ty team in Cleveland, where his second best player was MO WILLIAMS, for seven years, to actually play with a decent team.

HOW. DARE. HE.

I agree. Still, there are easily enough to create 3 or 4 superteams.

Who cares? What was more fun, six great teams in the 80's? Or no dynasties in the 70's?

Guess which one caused the NBA in the tape delay era, and the other made it the most popular league at the time?

Were you this upset when the Celtics picked up Garnett and Allen? Did that fundamentally change the game?

Personally, I would rather watch a playoff game in which five or six future HOFs are on the court than a game in which maybe two are on the court. If small-market teams do not have the money to compete, then that is their problem.

You know who the Heat were motivated to join forces by?

The Boston Celtics.

True story.

"Bout damn time"

Love it.

28.6 points, 10.2 boards, 7.4 assists.

Great defense on Durant in game 3 and 4.

One of the best playoff performances of all time in terms of overall playoffs.

You're right. The All-Star Team in Miami was his ONLY option besides wasting away in Cleveland. For the life of me, I still can't figure out why there weren't more than two teams interested in LeBron.

I didn't say that the Heat are necessarily a reflection of society's problems. Just that the "I want it now" mentality will likely contribute to the other elite players in the league forming superteams now that they just saw LeBron/Wade/Bosh win a ring within 2 years of joining forces. Do you think all the other star players in the league are just going to be content to wait until LeBron/Wade/Bosh retire to get their ring, or are they going to try and do something about it? My money is on them doing something about it.

BULL ****

LeBron had played seven excellent years in Cleveland. And was already hearing it from everyone he had to win a title.

Not to mention just leaving the Thunder just completely baffled on defense. And Durant couldn't guard him or else he'd be in foul trouble. He did much more than the numbers, as amazing as the numbers are.

Congrats Heat Fans I wanted the Thunder to win but the Heat were the better team, and won the NBA Championship.
